The answer is simple: It’s not. I believe that when you invest a significant amount of money in a premium device, you should be able to enjoy it to the fullest without constantly having to reach for your wallet. I’m not a fan of the "always pay for everything and every time" philosophy. I develop apps because I enjoy the process, not to profit from every single download.
