Set Up and Configure Shot Clock Shot Clock PRO runs directly on your Garmin watch, but setup and configuration are managed using the Shot Clock PRO phone app for iPhone or Android, or the Shot Clock Portal in a web browser at shotclock.au/portal. Use either option to select match families, configure timing sequences, create custom times and manage your Shot Clock settings. The phone app communicates directly with your Garmin watch over Bluetooth, so you can configure Shot Clock at the range without mobile reception or internet access. The Portal requires an internet connection and is ideal when configuring Shot Clock from a desktop or larger screen. A PAR timer does not detect gunshots. Instead, it provides precise timing sequences for training and competition, allowing you to focus on your shooting rather than watching the clock. Shot Clock includes built-in timing sequences for many popular disciplines, including WA1500/PPC1500, Australian Service Pistol, ISSF, NPA Pistol, Bullseye and Precision Rifle Series. If your preferred match isn’t included, you can easily customise an existing sequence or create your own for local competitions, club variations or personal training. Shot Clock 2.1.0 Setup has moved to the companion app. Time sequences, match families and custom times are now managed using the Shot Clock PRO companion app for iPhone and Android, or from a browser at shotclock.au/portal. The Connect IQ settings screen now directs you to these tools instead of editing settings itself. You were already doing this on your phone — Connect IQ settings live inside Garmin Connect. This swaps one phone app for one built for the job. Better sequence editing. The companion app and Portal validate sequences as you create them and tell you immediately if something is wrong. Garmin Connect’s text fields can’t do that — they accept the entry and the watch only discovers a problem afterwards. Works without mobile reception. Shot Clock PRO communicates directly with your Garmin watch over Bluetooth, so you can configure it at the range even when there is no internet connection. The Portal requires internet access and is ideal from a desktop browser — particularly if you previously used Garmin Express to manage Shot Clock. Don’t have Shot Clock PRO yet? Backup and Restore have also moved. The old Backup and Restore options have been removed from the watch menu. Nothing currently stored on your watch is affected, but backups previously created on the watch can no longer be restored. Backups are now managed through Shot Clock PRO. We recommend creating a fresh backup in the companion app after upgrading.
