About

Feed Zone tells you what and when to eat and drink while you ride, in real time and adapting to your effort, not a generic hourly guideline. It works out how many carbs and how much fluid you need from your normalized power and accumulated work (kJ). Your carb target FOLLOWS your effort: it rises on climbs and intervals and eases off when you ride easy, using your recent Normalized Power. WHAT IT DOES • Full-screen eat and drink alerts that pop up even when you're on another data screen. The tone tells eating (3 beeps) from drinking (2) by ear, without looking at your Garmin. • Status ring dashboard: countdown and urgency color for carbs and water, with your current rate vs target, energy (kJ), time and intensity (IF). • Form by intensity: gels when you push hard (fast sugar), bars and gummies when you're comfortable. And it counts the carbs you drink from your bottle. • Fueling level (Standard / High) to match how much you fuel to your tolerance. • More fluid in the heat and an end-of-ride taper (stops nagging near the finish). • Bilingual (Spanish / English) and night mode. • Records developer fields in the FIT (carbs and fluid consumed, deficits, kJ, normalized power and temperature) to review everything in Garmin Connect. Works with or without a power meter (degraded mode with a conservative estimate). Set your FTP and bottles (capacity, type and carb grams) from Garmin Connect Mobile. IMPORTANT — ENABLE THE ALERTS For the alerts to appear full-screen (in addition to the tone), enable them once on your Edge: 1) Add Feed Zone to a data screen in your activity profile. 2) On the Edge: Menu - Activity Settings - Alerts & Notifications - Connect IQ Alerts. 3) Enable Feed Zone in the list. Without this step you'll only hear the tone; the full-screen alert won't appear. Compatible with Edge 530, 540, 550, 830, 840, 850, 1030, 1030 Plus, 1040 and 1050.

What's new

v1.1.1 • Stability fix to prevent an unexpected shutdown reported after an alert. Your settings and the usual alert, dashboard and FIT recording behavior remain unchanged. v1.1.0 • Auditable intake events: every recommendation keeps its identity, dose and source from creation until it is credited as assumed. • Retries without double credit: if delivery fails, the same event remains pending and a later delivery is credited only once. • Clearer totals: dashboard, deficit and FIT share the same information and distinguish assumed intake from confirmed consumption, without requiring interaction while riding. • New calibration FIT v2: adds recommended and delivered totals, power quality, current targets and traceable events while preserving compatibility with previous fields. v1.0.5 — Alert and data reliability • One recommendation per alert: if eating and drinking coincide, Feed Zone shows and credits one action; the other need is kept for the next alert. • No invisible intakes: a dose is only credited when a channel could deliver the alert. Failures stay retriable without spam. • Recent power with expiry: a short dropout is tolerated; a long absence switches to the conservative plan and recovers when the signal returns. • Consistent amounts: alert, dashboard and FIT share the exact configured dose. • Post-ride diagnostics: the FIT adds "Missed alerts" as a session total. • Bottles are assumed the same after each refill (not remaining inventory). • Weight is no longer presented as part of the calculation, and the unused profile permission is removed.
