About

Recently, I've been getting comments that this data field DOES NOT WORK WITH Forerunner 235. I don't know why. The simulator works, but in real life, it seems to have issues with some users. I don't have a Forerunner 235 to test it on. Sorry. Now you have the choice to us meters or yards. The Garmin Forerunner series of watches do a really good job of recording the swim data, but I wanted to see how I was doing against my goal pace in open water swims. Trouble was I couldn’t read the display easily. However, I could differentiate colors, so this data field provides the following background colors based upon the overall all pace average with a numeric display of the distance field: Blue: Faster then the “Hoped for pace” Green: Faster then the “Happy with pace” Yellow: Faster then the “Ok with pace” Red: Slower then the “Ok with pace” The pace is entered M:SS per 100 meters | yards. The chart linked to the URL below has conversion for people who use meters. I do some error checking on the input, but you can crash the app if you enter the value incorrectly. I decided to to that rather then using default values on errors. The data field was designed to work 920xt/735Xt with a 1 or 2 field layout. With the 3 or 4 field layout the title is cut off. From using the simulator, if you have a 735xt, put in on the bottom of a 2 layout display (the curve at the top cuts off the label). A good chart for selecting/converting pace times is at http://www.thesaa.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/TriathlonSwimPaceChart.pdf

What's new

1.1 Fixed a bug that caused app to crash after the Garmin was sleeping and added white text on red background so it can be read better 1.2 Fixed a font issue on the 735XT to use large numbers in 2 field layout. 1.4 Now you have the option of specifying if you want to us metric or imperial uints
