About

--------------------------The Brief-------------------------- Hail Yeah is a weather app that lets **you** choose the forecast source instead of being locked to one. Ten providers — global models plus national services (US NWS, UK Met Office, Norway's MET, Australia's BOM) that are often more accurate for your region than a single worldwide feed. Current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, chance of rain, wind direction, feels-like, UV, pressure trend and severe-weather alerts. A native-style glance, full unit control, GPS or saved locations. Free, no ads. --------------------------The Details-------------------------- Stop settling for one weather source. ___ The built-in Garmin weather widget gives you a single provider you can't change, a bare current-conditions readout, and no say in where the data comes from. Hail Yeah is built around the opposite idea: YOU PICK THE SOURCE — and you can pick the one that's genuinely best for where you are. ___ Why Hail Yeah beats the built-in weather? **Choose your forecaster — 10 of them. Global models and the national weather services that beat a one-size-fits-all feed in their own backyard: the US NWS, the UK Met Office, Norway's MET (excellent across Europe), and Australia's BOM. **Choose your forecast model, too. On the default Open-Meteo source you can select the raw model — ECMWF, GFS, ICON, Météo-France, BOM, or Auto — the same models the pros compare. **Actually detailed. A five-page stack: Now, Hourly, Daily, Details (feels-like, UV, dew point, pressure trend, visibility, cloud cover), and severe-weather Alerts — not just a temperature and an icon. **Chance of rain and wind direction, shown as a clean probability and a real direction arrow, on both the hourly table and the at-a-glance view. **A glance that fits Garmin. Condition icon, current temp with today's high/low, and a rain-chance slider — styled to sit naturally beside your native glances. **Your units, everywhere. Temperature (°C/°F), wind (km/h, mph, m/s, knots, Beaufort), precipitation (mm/in), pressure (hPa/inHg/mmHg), distance and 12/24-hour time — each set independently. **Watches and bike computers. Optimised layouts for round watches and for Edge cycling computers (wind-first ordering and a next-hours strip). **GPS or saved locations, automatic background updates, and a cache-first design so you always see the last good data instantly — even offline. **Free. No ads. No account. -------------What are the Weather sources?------------- ------No API key needed — just pick and go:------ - **Open-Meteo** (default) — global, with 6 selectable models (Auto, ECMWF, GFS, ICON, BOM, Météo-France) - **MET Norway** — global, strong across Europe - **NWS / weather.gov** — United States only - **BOM** — Australia only (experimental) ___ ------Bring your own free API key (paste it into the app's phone settings):------ - **OpenWeatherMap** - **Pirate Weather** - **WeatherAPI.com** - **Visual Crossing** - **Weatherbit** - **Met Office (UK) DataHub** Every keyed provider offers a free tier — Hail Yeah never charges for data and never sees your keys leave your device. -------------Notes------------- - Severe-weather alerts are provided where the source supports them (e.g. NWS, OpenWeatherMap). - "Experimental" sources use an unofficial endpoint and may change; they're clearly marked in the picker. - Feedback is more than welcome!
