VFR Pilot is a METAR-powered aviation dashboard for your AMOLED Garmin watch
Real aviation data. Always on your wrist.
VFR Pilot brings a professional aviation dashboard to your AMOLED Garmin watch — built for pilots who fly with a Fenix, Venu, Epix, Instinct or Forerunner, not just a D2.
What you see at a glance:
- Live METAR data for your selected airport (ICAO)
- UTC / Zulu time
- Wind speed (knots) + direction (degrees) with authentic wind barb notation
- Density Altitude — fully automated, no input required
- Cloud ceiling (feet)
- Temperature & Dewpoint
- Sunrise & Sunset with day/night arc indicator
- Visibility scale — 10-segment arc showing current visibility in km, with a color-coded eye icon indicating flight category (VFR / MVFR / IFR / LIFR)
- Battery level
The feature pilots actually asked for:
- Density Altitude — fully automated. Set your ICAO once. No calculators, no charts, no phone. Just the number on your wrist before you walk to the aircraft.
- The visibility scale gives you two reads in one glance — exactly how far you can see, and whether conditions are VFR, MVFR, IFR or LIFR. No numbers to interpret. Just position and color.
The design follows real aviation instrument philosophy: purposeful color coding, layered sub-dials, and a layout that makes sense to a pilot in 2 seconds flat.
How it works:
Set your home airport ICAO code once. VFR Pilot pulls live weather data automatically and keeps it updated throughout the day.
Try before you buy:
Full feature access for 72 hours after installation — fly with it, evaluate it in real conditions, then decide. One-time payment. No subscription. Ever.
Data sources:
- Weather data is provided by the NOAA Aviation Weather Center - https://aviationweather.gov
- Sunrise and sunset data is provided by Sunrise Sunset - https://sunrise-sunset.org
