About
This data field quantifies your actual exertion level—either per lap or as a 30-second rolling average—when conditions deviate from the ideal (high altitude, elevation gain, accumulated fatigue, and technical terrain).
How it works
The system calculates an Equivalent Pace by normalizing your current speed against fatigue, elevation, altitude, and terrain technicality. This value is then compared to your FTPa (Functional Threshold Pace), which represents the maximal steady effort you can sustain for approximately one hour under ideal conditions.
Display Options
You can choose how to visualize this data:
effortPace: Your current effort translated into the equivalent pace you would be running under ideal conditions.
TRP (Target Race Performance): An effort scale from 1% to 100%. A "100%" represents your maximum achievable performance for that race, while lower values indicate a proportionally reduced competitive effort.
Configuration & Technicality
You can toggle the calculation window between 30 seconds or per Lap. Additionally, you must define the Technical Difficulty of the terrain based on Kilian Jornet’s scale:
T0 – Non-technical: Road, track, wide trail. Continuous stride, no obstacles.
T1 – Slightly technical: Clear trail, uneven surface. Some rocks/roots. Mostly continuous rhythm.
T2 – Moderately technical: Narrow trail with natural steps. Requires constant attention and irregular pace.
T3 – Technical: Rough terrain, loose rocks. Descents requiring braking. Very broken stride.
T4 – Very technical: Occasional use of hands. Exposed sections. Power-hike rhythm. Fall risk.
T5 – Extremely technical / Alpine: Frequent use of hands, scrambles, and ridges. Very slow progress; high psychological and biomechanical penalty.
Note: When navigating a pre-loaded track, the total distance used for fatigue calculations will be the one provided by the track file.
