Arclight: Data Arcs Watch Face

Four arcs around the rim, three readings across the top, and the time big enough to read at a glance. Every slot is yours. Eleven in all: four arcs, three circles, and four cells along the bottom. Each one draws from a list of metrics chosen to suit that spot. Steps and calories fill an arc because they have somewhere to get to. Heart rate sits in a circle because it runs to three digits. Nothing is offered in a place it would be cut short. An arc can sweep the whole spectrum, hold one colour, or shade from red toward green as you close on a goal. Backgrounds stay close to black, because a bright one drains an AMOLED battery and makes everything on top of it harder to read. The always on screen keeps every number, the date, and a small icon beside each value. It drops the costly decoration: no filled discs, no dividers, no coloured segments. You still read every value in a glance, and it lights well under a tenth of the pixels. WHAT GOES WHERE Arcs take anything with a target to fill against: steps, calories, floors, intensity minutes, watch battery, Body Battery, stress, sleep score, pulse ox, recovery time, solar input, and weekly run or bike distance. Circles take a short reading: heart rate, Body Battery, stress, steps, calories, battery, sunrise, sunset, altitude, VO2 max for run or bike, floors, notifications, date, temperature, pulse ox, respiration, sleep score, or recovery time. The four cells take the small stuff: how cold it feels, chance of rain, UV index, wind, humidity, pressure, sunrise, sunset, altitude, heart rate, or battery. Any slot can be left empty. WORTH KNOWING Some readings depend on your watch and its firmware. If yours reports no Body Battery or pulse ox, that slot reads blank instead of guessing a number. Weather values need a recent sync with your phone. Temperature, distance, and altitude follow the units set on your watch.
