Noctuary

Noctuary is a dark, quiet watch face for people who train. The layout borrows from mechanical watches rather than fitness trackers. Two short arcs sit where a power reserve indicator would — steps on the left, battery on the right. They never close into a full ring, because the gap is what makes them read as an instrument instead of a progress bar. A single gold dot orbits the edge for seconds. Nothing else moves. Six things on screen, and no more: time, date, heart rate, average heart rate for the day, steps, battery. All of it legible mid-set or mid-interval, which was the whole point. Five colorways Noctuary — midnight blue and champagne. The default, and the easiest to read in direct sun. Onyx — charcoal and platinum. No warm tones anywhere. Sanguine — oxblood and rose gold. Verdant — racing green and pale gold. Alabaster — a light dial for daylight. It draws more power on an AMOLED panel, so it's not the one to leave on all day. Switch between them from the Connect IQ app. No reinstall. Always-on Always-on mode is a redesign, not a dimmed copy. Pure black background, hour digits drawn as outlines, arcs and dial texture switched off. Low pixel coverage is what protects an AMOLED display over time, and this mode is built around that rather than around looking impressive. Seven metrics for the bottom slot, and calories that mean something. NEW — bottom slot now offers: Current HR, Body Battery, Recovery time and weekly Intensity minutes, alongside the existing Average HR, Resting HR and Temperature. Current HR is read live every time the dial is drawn, so it keeps up between sets at the gym. CHANGED — the KCAL figure is now ACTIVE calories. The watch reports a daily total that already includes resting metabolism, so it reads in the hundreds before you have moved at all. Noctuary subtracts the basal share and shows only what you burned by moving. Every screen size gets its own generated fonts, and text sizes have a readability floor so small screens stay legible. PERMISSION — this version asks for Sensor History access. It is used for one thing only: reading your Body Battery for the bottom slot. NOTE — Body Battery, Recovery time and Intensity minutes are not available on Forerunner 70 and 170; those options show "--" there.
