About

This data field measures your HR recovery during a HIIT workout activity (interval training). The absolute HR recovery value will depend on both your initial HR just before starting to rest, and your activity level when resting (sitting, standing still, walking etc). For more useful comparison across varying ranges of activity intensity, this data field also measures a "HR Recovery Rate" for each recovery. During the rest step, your HR will decay exponentially from its initial value to a new equilibrium (assuming you don't change your level of physical exertion). The HR recovery rate is measured based on the entire decay profile, not just one sample point as the HR recovery value is. The rate is typically between 0.5 and 1.5, with LOWER values indicating faster recovery (better). Physically it can be interpreted as the number of minutes required for your HR to drop to 63% of the way to its new equilibrium value (in other words the exponential time constant). As your cardio fitness improves, the HR recovery rate value should decrease. # Features * Measures HR recovery for each rest/recovery step in the workout. The HR recovery value is the decrease in your HR after a given duration since stopping exercise. For example, if you HR drops from 150 to 120 in 2 minutes, the HR recovery is 30 bpm, assuming a 2 minute sampling time. * Customizable sample time for Recovery HR (default 2 minutes) * Measures a HR recovery rate for each recovery based on the entire HR decay profile for better comparisons across wide ranges of activity intensity. * The rest/recovery step can be detected either from your HR or signaled to the app using the LAP button. If using the LAP button, turn off auto lap in your activity settings * Display selectable between: 1) last HR recovery 2) last HR recovery rate 3) last HR recovery and recovery rate NOTE: During the rest/recovery step of your workout, try to keep your activity level constant, whether walking, standing still, sitting etc. Once your heart rate starts increasing, the data field will consider that the rest/recovery step has ended. # PRO Version Features * Option to save min, max and average HR recovery (and HR recovery rate) to the activity session record for viewing in Garmin Connect * Option to save per recovery charts to the activity session record for viewing in Garmin Connect * Additional display options 4) min/latest/max HR recovery 5) min/latest/max HR recovery rate * On the "measuring ...." screen when a recovery is detected, a countdown to when the HRR result will be available is displayed NOTE: To include the last recovery that occurs after the activity has been stopped in the results, do not save the activity immediately after pressing the STOP button. Instead, wait for a vibration alert from the watch, then save the activity. # Related Apps * HR Recovery Trend: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/cb142103-5817-4da0-a4e2-2a74ad53682e * Interval Walking: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/68e483b4-2208-466f-b328-c2d53f8f264d * Aerobic (HR zone) timer: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/042ab129-6ee3-4751-af14-527d74b20713 # Payment For the PRO version, use this link to pay US$1.50 via Stripe (no account required; credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay accepted). https://buy.stripe.com/00weVeeY01tUdVlfD8f3d1p Alternative payment via Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/trudelta/1.50USD Important instructions to get your unlock code quickly: https://ko-fi.com/post/Payments-via-PayPal-Z8Z6AIK78 Payment via Stripe is recommended because you will get your unlock code immediately on the payment confirmation screen.
