About

APP IS NO LONGER MAINTAINED Hi Guys, I’ve built a Safe Running Widget/App designed to help runners train safely. It provides personalised weekly distance recommendations based on your running history and injury prevention principles. I created this app after Garmin released their own running tolerance widget, which unfortunately only supports newer-generation devices. While my app isn’t as sophisticated as Garmin’s — they likely use more detailed data from your Garmin profile — it still works well enough to give a baseline reference for your weekly running distance based on consistent training. If this app helped you out, consider buying me a coffee :) https://www.paypal.com/donate/?business=KJPSLQSJSMB2U&no_recurring=1&item_name=Thanks+for+your+support+%3A%29&currency_code=USD Disclaimer: This app is for guidance only (based on the 10% rule). Listen to your body and consult a healthcare professional before establishing a running routine. I am not responsible for any injuries or issues that may occur while using the app. Run safe! This app is designed for consistent runners who want to safely progress their running potential. The app does its best to accommodate arbitrary data (such as 40km one week and then 10km the next), but it works best when you run consistently.

What's new

Update v7: Should pull calendar dates from the watch to make the weekly data and current distance more robust, and added a minimum safe distance of running 1km for people with zero data/zero runs to start to build from. Update v6: More fixes regarding weekly distances not showing the correct distances. Update v5: This update should get your current timezone to correctly assign your activities to the correct weeks. Update v4.5: Deload weeks added and other types of running supported (trail, track, treadmill). These features are still experimental, and I haven't tested them properly yet. Fixed risk warning giving false triggers, and will have an update at the start of next month that should properly fix the weekly history not lining up in the correct weeks. Update v4: More accurate target with bug fixes. Update v3: This update fixes the UI on all watches, all watches should correctly scale and display elements without overlapping or clipping. Update v2.5: Added the option to switch the data to miles in the menus, as well as a disclaimer to limit personal liability. I am aware of some glance text clipping on some watches with larger glance screens. I am working towards a fix, but am unsure when it will be ready. I have removed the Instinct 2 series and below, as well as the first-generation Descent series, as both have the unusual circle at the top right of the watch, which interferes with the UI. Update v2: The app should now display the correct weekly distance run, taking into account activities from 4–8 weeks in the past. Update v1.5: Big compatibility update for the UI: now works much better on all supported Garmin devices with automatic screen size detection and adaptive layouts. This update ensures optimal display and readability, whether you're using a small or large device. Unnecessary variables have been removed to make the app more lightweight and optimised. I am aware of a bug where the correct distance you have run in a week is not displayed, and I am currently investigating it. Expect a future update to fix this.
