About

Candle is a haptic pacer for resonance breathing. One short pulse on your wrist marks each inhale and each exhale — nothing to watch, nothing to hear, nothing to track. Close your eyes and breathe. HOW IT WORKS ◆ Opens pulsing. No start button and no timer: it runs until you exit. ◆ Default 6 breaths per minute, one pulse every 5 seconds. If you have measured your own rate with a chest strap and an HRV app, set it to two decimals (0.01 bpm). ◆ Equal inhale and exhale. Every pulse is identical, so if you lose the rhythm you just take the next one. ◆ Vibration strength (POWER) and length (BUZZ) are on the main screen. Turn them up when you're distracted, down as your attention improves. ◆ Settings are remembered. CONTROLS ◆ Main screen: clock, POWER, BUZZ, battery. Tap + or – to adjust. ◆ Top button: switch to the rate screen (EVERY / BPM) and back. Tap + or –, or hold to scroll. ◆ Hold the bottom button to exit. A short press only shows a reminder, so a brushed button doesn't end a long practice. TIPS ◆ Turn on Do Not Disturb so a notification doesn't land between two pulses. ◆ Wearing it on the forearm or upper arm? Use Lock Screen from the controls menu so skin doesn't register as taps. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO ◆ No measurement, no scores, no session log. Candle paces; it doesn't judge. To find your personal rate, use a chest strap with an HRV app — Yudemon HRV's Journey Mode is what I use. ◆ No holds, no patterns, no countdown. For a bounded session, use the watch's own timer or alarm. ◆ A longer-exhale mode is planned. Free and open source. No sensors, no data collected, no permissions. Currently vívoactive 5. Other Garmin watches with a vibration motor will follow as people test them — write to me if you'd like to help. Not a medical device; for informational purposes only.
