About
MAJOR UPDATE - this is now available for the Fenix 3 / 5S at https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/21921d6b-11a8-4dde-a625-12a013633f2b
============
This is a data field for the Forerunner 920XT and Vivoactive that is designed to show information in a really easy to read format. If you like this field then also check out Every Split Pacer at https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/6a86ff87-6af3-42ec-a92a-af0a481172d3
It shows two very large fields, two to four other fields, your Suffer Score and Training Effect (although Training Effect does not work on the Vivoactive).
Using Garmin Express you can configure any of the fields to show one of:
* elapsed time
* distance
* pace
* time of day
* HR
* Average HR
* MAF HR
* ascent (meters or feet)
and you can configure the watch to show two small or one large field at the top and bottom right of the screen.
By default elapsed time is shown in the lower left field, and can show times up to 999 hours; distance is shown in the upper left field up to 999 km or miles. When the left-most fields run out of space, on epic runs, the display will start to tweak to still show the data. Fields will condense, labels will drop off, and finally the right-most fields will start to move off the screen.
Heart rate zones are provided by your Garmin Express settings, see http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivoactive/EN-US/GUID-A6B45717-C27D-42F4-A8B2-4CB88F1A3B83.html
HR Zone colours are configurable. By default they are:
Zone 1 - Background colour
Zone 2 - Green
Zone 3 - Yellow
Zone 4 - Orange
Zone 5 - Blue
Above Zone 5 - Pink
Training Effect is described at https://www.firstbeat.com/en/consumer-products/features/#training-effect
Training Effect colour zones are:
0 - 2 Easy - Black
2+ Maintain Fitness - Green
3+ Improve Fitness - Yellow
4+ Lots Fitter - Blue
5+ Overreaching - Red
Suffer Score is based on the Strava algorithm.
MAF HR is an HR field that will show Green if you are within +2 / -5 of your Maximum Aerobic Fitness training level as described by Dr Philip Maffetone. It will show Blue if you are within -10 / -6, and red if you are above +2 of your MAF. MAF is calculated as 180 - your age. If you use a MAF data field then the whole screen will turn the color of the MAF field as it changes.
HOW TO USE:
On your watch choose a sport, press menu and set the screen to show one data field, then set that datafield to Hi Vis Run Field 2. Use Garmin Express to configure the fields that you want to see. If you want to use large fields on the right hand side, then configure the right_top_middle and right_bottom fields to show "Join the field above".
Please leave a review if you like the app or if something doesn't work for you! Thanks, Brian.
