See the tide right now on your data screen while you run, ride, paddle, sail, or surf. TideCastDF shows the current tide height, the next high or low with a countdown, rising or falling, and a mini tide curve - and it keeps working offline. HOW IT WORKS • Fetches tide predictions for your location in the background (GPS or Garmin Weather) • Interpolates the current height locally with pure math, so it keeps working with no phone and no signal - fetch near your phone, then leave it on shore • Auto-finds your nearest tide station; optionally pin any station by postcode, ZIP, or TC code - browse every station and grab its code on the web at https://tide.extreme-media.co.uk ON YOUR DATA SCREEN • Current tide height with a rising/falling arrow (red = high/rising, blue = low/falling) • Next tide: high or low, its height, and time, with a live countdown • Station name and a mini tide curve with colour-coded, time-labelled high/low dots and a now-marker (when the field is tall enough) • Pick your display: the full view, or a single big value (countdown, height, next tide, rising/falling, next high, or next low) for one slot in a multi-field layout • Turn the tide curve off for a clean all-text view on smaller watches RECORDS TO YOUR ACTIVITY (FIT FILE) With recording on (the default), TideCastDF writes three things into your activity's FIT file, so they show up in Garmin Connect with your other activity data: • Tide height (metres) - logged continuously, so it graphs as a tide curve over your activity, right alongside pace, heart rate, elevation, etc. • Time of day - the actual wall-clock time is logged as its own graph, so you can read off exactly what time it was at any point - not just elapsed time. Perfect for matching a wave, a catch, or a turnaround to the state of the tide. • Station name - saved once in the activity summary, so you always know which station the readings came from. It all stays inside your own activity on your Garmin Connect account - it is never sent to us. (You can turn recording off in settings.)
