PumpFoil Runs

Count your pump foil runs and measure every one of them, without noting anything down. Stand at your launch point, set the start from the menu, and the app does the rest. One buzz at the end of an attempt if it fell short, two if it counted. WHAT SETS IT APART When the flight stops you fall, and your wrist goes under water at the exact moment it should be measuring: around 20 % of positions are missing, always at the end of runs. Everything here is built around that hole — a clock independent of GPS, and a run ending read from heading, not from speed alone. The start is read at the wrist: effort on the dock leads the speed-up by about five seconds, which no speed threshold can see. That is also what makes failed launches countable — the effort happened, the speed did not follow. Classes follow your declared level, from beginner to top: you move the scale as you progress, instead of relabelling your runs one by one. ON THE WATCH Live speed, run distance and duration. Your last run, one press away. Distance and time classes. Totals, averages and maxima. The history, and the full detail of any run. IN YOUR FILE A normal Garmin activity, plus fields specific to pump foiling: distance, duration, classes, pump count, exit speed, flight consistency. And three-axis acceleration at 100 Hz, which pump cadence analysis needs. About 5 MB per hour, switchable off in the settings. SETTINGS Only one really matters: your level. The rest — thresholds, launch burst, heading reversal, start radius — is calibrated and best left alone. BUTTONS SELECT stops and offers resume, save or discard. BACK closes the run in progress. MENU (long press) opens the settings, "Start point here" first. UP and DOWN move through the screens. WORTH KNOWING Pump counting is still experimental. The end of a run is the weak link, and that is structural: about two seconds of error against hand-marked endings. VERSION 01.00.00 First public release. Until now the app lived in a private beta, on a single watch and around thirty real sessions. What it does is in the description. What it does not do yet is worth stating here: • Pump counting is experimental. Its total is corroborated to within 3-9 % by an independent count on the raw accelerometer, but its two internal settings have never been swept in the field. • The end of a run keeps about two seconds of error against hand-marked endings. That is structural, not a setting waiting to be found: it is the moment your wrist goes under water, so the moment GPS is least reliable. • The classes for the "expert" and "top" levels are set, not calibrated: no flight of that size exists in the measurements yet. Every detection threshold has been swept over real sessions, and the measurement tables live in the code, next to each constant. Feedback from the water is welcome — that is how the detection got this far.
