Clear Forerunner 45
· v8.0
About
I wanted a simple watch face for my Forerunner 45/S which clearly displayed time, date, heartrate and battery and I couldn't find quite what I wanted so I made my own.
This watch face always displays time, date and battery status along with simple icons to notify you of phone connectivity and any waiting notifications.
For clarity, battery status is displayed using 4 battery icons which are Green, Orange, Red and (if you really don't charge) one last Red icon with a lightning bolt through it. Please note that these icons will appear "full".
The percentage of battery at which these icons appear is up to you - it is defined in the settings for the app. By default Green will appear between 100% and 50% and then Orange appears at 50% until Red appears at 20% and, finally, the lightning bolt icon appears at 5%. These thresholds (50%,20%,5%) are configurable in the app's settings so you can have the colours change at whatever level of battery you like.
Heartrate display can be turned on/off and the metrics display can be customised to display any/all/none of steps/calories/distance. If you display all of the metrics then the display will cycle through them when you "glance" at the watch.
The display uses two simple "light" and "dark" themes but you can also customise the colours of the background, heartrate, heart icon, time, date and metric displays to pick your own colours and make things clearer to see at a glance.
Please Note: As far as I am aware, on the Forerunner 45 devices you will likely see a discrepancy (i.e. delay) between the heart rate value that is displayed on the watch face than the one you see in the Garmin provided screens. This seems to be a limitation of the programming interfaces that are available to me as a developer on this device.
