Trio Complication - Your Trio Data on Any Watch Face
+++++
Important Notice:
For informational purposes only. Designed to complement your diabetes management, not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider for treatment decisions.
+++++
Publishes your Trio therapy data as Connect IQ complications, so you can keep the watch face you already love and simply place glucose, insulin and carbs into its complication slots. No need to switch to a dedicated diabetes watch face. Needs the iPhone companion app Trio (https://github.com/nightscout/Trio) installed and configured.
Includes its own app view with a 2-hour glucose graph, so you always have the full picture one button press away.
KEY FEATURES:
Four Complication Slots
• Place Trio data into any watch face that supports Connect IQ complications
• Each slot is freely configurable - choose what it shows
• Labels update live, so a slot always names what it currently carries
• Distinct icons for eventual glucose, iob, cob and sensitivity on slots 1-4
Choose From Nine Metrics
• Glucose - mg/dL or mmol/L, auto-detected
• Glucose with trend arrow
• Trend and delta - the live arrow is the label, the rate is the value
• Insulin on Board (IOB)
• Carbs on Board (COB)
• Sensitivity Ratio
• Temporary Basal Rate (TBR)
• Eventual BG prediction
• Data age in minutes
Built-in Glucose Graph
• 2-hour historical glucose graph
• Dynamic colour, matching Trio's own glucose colouring
• Target range boundaries and the loop target drawn as guide lines
• Scales and centres on your readings, so a steady night stays readable
• Large glucose value with trend arrow and delta
• COB, IOB and sensitivity ratio at a glance
• Loop status ring with time since last loop
Safety By Design
• Every value falls back to "--" once the data goes stale
• 15 minutes for glucose and delta, 30 minutes for loop values
• A watch face can never show you an hours-old reading as if it were current
• "Data age" metric available if you want the number itself in view
How It Works:
Connects to the Trio iOS app on your paired iPhone. Receives glucose data, insulin information and loop status every 5 minutes via Bluetooth, directly from app to watch. The published values live in the watch itself, so your complications keep updating while the app is closed.
Requirements:
• Trio iOS app installed on iPhone
• In Trio, select "Complication" as your Garmin watch face
• Pair Garmin watch in Trio (the only point where the Garmin Connect app is needed for data exchange)
• Bluetooth connectivity
• A watch face that supports Connect IQ complications - see the note below
Please Note - Watch Face Compatibility:
Many watch faces advertise "complications" but only offer Garmin's own data such as steps and battery. Those cannot show data from any Connect IQ app, including this one. Look for a watch face that states it supports Connect IQ or third-party complications. Garmin's own Face It watch faces, built in the Connect IQ mobile app, do support them.
Optional Settings via Garmin Connect:
• Assign any of the nine metrics to each of the four slots
• Adjustable target glucose range for the graph guide lines
Privacy & Security:
Direct transmission from the iPhone Trio app to the watch. No external servers and no internet connection required. Your diabetes data remains private and secure.
