About

This data field allows virtual power measurements while training on an indoor trainer. The software supports multiple trainers including the more popular ones. The coefficients for the trainer can also be set by the user. The data are recorded and can be viewed in the Garmin Connect application after the workout. If you like the app, please buy me a drink through my PayPal, I appreciate any contribution! https://www.paypal.me/thelampire If you find some error with the code, please contact me before leaving a bad review! I try to fix the issue as soon as possible! Also, if you would like a new trainer to be added to the list, send me a message, but please provide a power curve or a link to it. If you do contact me, please provide an email address, otherwise I won't be able to answer! FAQ: What do I need for the app to work? You need a non-smart indoor trainer from the list down below, a speed sensor, and a compatible Garmin device. (You can request your trainer to be added, but please send the power curve in email). You do not need this app for the smart trainers like Tacx Neo, Tacx Flow, Wahoo Kickr, or one which transmits power. Please do not request these to be added to the list! How to change the settings? In Garmin Connect go to Garmin devices / [YOUR WATCH] / Activities & App management / Data Fields / Trainer virtual power Why aren't the coefficients changing when I select the trainer? The visible coefficients in the settings are only for the custom user defined coefficients. If you select a trainer, these will not change, however, your Garmin device will receive the corresponding parameters and calculate the power for you accordingly. (This question is what most people ask me, those zero coefficients will never change, I couldn't make the app in a way where the settings would change and show the coefficients). What are the coefficients? In the settings you can find out that the coefficients are for the equation A * v^3 + B * v^2 + C*v + D. You can actually find these out if you fit a third order polynomial in Excel onto the power curve of your trainer. Here you can choose the trainer type and put your coefficients in. The coefficients are for kmh data based on the trainer's power curve. If you want your trainer to be added or the coefficients for it, please send me an email with the power curve. The supported indoor trainers are the following: Btwin (Decathlon): InRide 100 or 300, InRide 500 Cycleops: Fluid 2, Jet Fluid Pro, Mag, Magneto, Super Magneto, Wind Elite: Chrono Fluid, Chrono Power Fluid, Fluid Elastogel, Mag Force, Novo Force, Qubo Fluid, Qubo Hydromag, Tuno Power Fluid, Turbo Muin Kinetic: Road Machine, Rock and Roll Minoura B60 Tacx: Blue Matic, Blue Motion, Blue Twist, Booster, Satori, Satori Pro Usually it takes me a while to answer all the request and emails. If I don't answer within a week, please feel free to email me again.
