A regulator dial whose power reserve shows how many DAYS of battery you have left. Gold on true black. THE GAUGE COUNTS DAYS, NOT PERCENT Every watch face shows you a battery percentage. Sixty percent of what? This one answers the question you actually ask: the figure under the gauge is the number of days your watch will keep running. Nine means nine days. Half a day shows as 0,5. Your watch already knows this number. Nobody uses it. The needle rides an arc borrowed from mechanical watchmaking. On a mechanical watch, the power reserve is the gauge that told the watchmaker how long the mainspring would keep running. On a connected watch, that is the battery. The transposition is exact, not a metaphor. The first tenth of the arc is marked red, the way a watchmaker marked the zone where the spring no longer guarantees the rate, and below fifteen percent the needle turns red with it. A REGULATOR, NOT ANOTHER ROUND DIAL On a regulator the hands do not share an axis. The big central hand carries only the minutes, and the hours live on their own small dial at twelve. It was the layout of workshop clocks, the ones every other watch was set by. You will recognise it at a glance in a list of a hundred faces. Only the numerals come from a font. It stays sharp on every screen from 360 to 454 pixels, and nothing is upscaled. SIX FINISHES Gold, blued steel, copper, British green, claret, polished steel.
