Maps Share
· v1.1.8
About
Share locations and complete routes with your Garmin.
Send places from Google Maps for native navigation or save them for later. Coordinate-based geo: links from Organic Maps, OsmAnd and other compatible apps can be renamed and sent without internet while your phone stays connected to Garmin. Google Maps directions links share the final destination as a waypoint; Garmin calculates the route.
ROUTE FILES
Export GPX, FIT, TCX or KML from Komoot, Strava, Ride with GPS or another planner. Open the file with Maps Share, preview the complete route on the map, choose your Garmin and tap Send to Garmin.
On Garmin, open Settings → Connect IQ → Maps Share. If the transfer is waiting, open Garmin Connect on your phone, select that exact device and tap Sync. Return to Maps Share on your phone afterward. Garmin asks before replacing the current course on supported devices.
Course import requires a Garmin with Connect IQ course-import and navigation support. Replacement while recording was verified on Edge 1040; other models and firmware may behave differently. Other compatible devices retain location sharing.
Supports one continuous route up to 10 MB and 10,000 points. Geometry and elevation are transferred, without custom turn cues, POIs or fitness data. Existing courses are never deleted automatically. Remove an unused Garmin course when course storage is full. Komoot and Strava route pages require a file export first.
Requires Android Maps Share 1.0.20 and Garmin Maps Share 1.1.8.
