Quipu - Data Watch Face
· v1.5.0
About
Five hundred years ago the Inca ran an empire without paper: harvests, census and tribute, all recorded in knots tied on cords they carried with them. That was a quipu - data worn on the body, and this face is its modern descendant.
Quipu is a data-dense instrument panel for people who like to see everything at a glance: a big, crisp clock surrounded by a calendar strip, two goal arcs and seven stat positions you pin yourself. Everything is measured, aligned and legible - engineered like a gauge, not decorated like a widget.
[MAKE IT YOURS]
Every part of the dial is yours to set: what each position shows, what each arc tracks and its goal, the colours, the size of the numbers, the text under the clock.
[ALL 51 STATS]
For the three slots in the bottom row and the two cells beside the calendar strip:
1. Activity: steps, distance, calories, floors up and down, ascent, descent, intensity minutes, weekly run and ride distance, wheelchair pushes and more
2. Health and training: heart rate, resting heart rate, stress, Body Battery, SpO2, respiration, sleep score, recovery time, training status, VO2 Max for running and cycling, race predictions from 5K to marathon
3. Weather and sun: temperature with a live condition icon, today's high and low, a three-day forecast, wind, humidity, UV index, sunrise, sunset, solar intensity
4. Watch and world: battery, notifications, next calendar event, altitude, pressure, ISO week number, UTC time and a second time zone, 119 cities with daylight saving handled by the watch.
How many of these your watch can show depends on the model - anything it does not measure reads as a dash, and the rest of the dial carries on.
Beside the clock, two more cells: seconds, week number, heart rate, temperature, VO2 Max, Bluetooth or Do Not Disturb.
[GOAL ARCS]
Three styles: ticks, band or blocks. Each arc tracks the metric you pick - steps, calories, intensity minutes, floors, distance, Body Battery, battery, pushes or daylight - against your Garmin Connect goal or one you set yourself. Show or hide each arc on its own, and the percentages at its ends with it.
[COLOUR]
32 accents with a gradient finish along the arcs, from calm pastels to strong reds - or type your own hex code. Colour every element separately: time, date, top arc, bottom arc, marker dot, stat values, stat labels, custom text, details.
[STYLES AND SIZES]
Three stat styles: icon + label, icon only, label only. Three sizes, up to Largest. Values auto-fit, so nothing ever clips or overlaps, in any language. Hide the divider lines for a fully clean dial, or switch on the outlined clock for hollow digits.
[DATE AND TEXT]
A three-day calendar strip, or a big date in words or numbers. Replace the date row with your own text: a name, a mantra, a race day. 12h or 24h, and 24h with no colon.
[ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY]
Three intensity levels, from just the time up to the full dimmed dial, in the same layout as the awake face. Burn-in safe, battery friendly. Background dark, light on MIP or contours on AMOLED.
[WEATHER SOURCE]
Garmin weather by default, or MET Norway (yr.no) with hourly updates.
[SETTINGS AND LANGUAGES]
Customise everything in the Garmin Connect IQ app: Device → Watch Faces → Quipu → Settings. The face is fully translated into 24 languages.
[PAYMENT]
Secure Garmin payment: you pay by card right in the Garmin app. No codes, no third-party sites.
