Time In Heart Rate Zone
· v4.1.0
About
This Data Field displays the current Heart Rate and current Heart Rate Zone (taken from User's Profile) as well as a graph with the time spent in each zone.
It's a live version of Garmin's 'Time In Zone' statistic.
The Data Field is a great helper for anyone who want to train or race in a specific Heart Rate Zone.
DATA SCREEN LAYOUT
The Data Field comes with two handy layouts.
SINGLE FIELD LAYOUT
The Data Field can use the entire screen.
The information displayed is
* current Heart Rate
* current Heart Rate Zone with zone color code
* time (minutes and seconds) spend in the current Heart Rate Zone
* graph with a bar for each zone and the time (minutes only) spent in that zone.
MULTIPLE FIELD LAYOUT
In this mode the Data Field shares the screen with other Data Fields and has only limited screen space.
I use this instead of the default 'Current Heart Rate' Data Field.
The information displayed is
* current Heart Rate
* current Heart Rate Zone with zone color code
SETTINGS
* combine Zone 1-3 in graph
This setting will combine Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 into one bar in the graph.
Use this setting if you only want to know how much time you spend in the Aerobic Zones (Zone 1-3), the Threshold Zone (Zone 4) and the Maximum Zone (Zone 5).
Take a look at the screenshots to see an example of the combined zones.
ZONE COLOR CODES
Z0: grey
Z1: grey
Z2: blue
Z3: green
Z4: orange
Z5: red
combined Z1-Z3: green
NOTES
Garmin ignores the time spent in Zone 0 in the 'Time in Zone' statistic, so I choose to do the same.
The Data Field will show that you are running in Zone 0, but the time is not recorded in the graph.
ENJOY
I hope you enjoy this Data Field. Let me know how you like it and share your experience with it.

What's new
New in Version 4.1.0
Bug Fix: Fixed a off by one bug where the Heart Rate Zone was off by one beat. Garmin's Time in Zone and the Data Field's Time in Zone values do now match up.
