Notebook — your notes, right on your wrist Notebook turns your Garmin watch into a handy little notepad. Jot down ideas, keep track of shopping lists, tick off tasks, and count reps or laps — all without reaching for your phone. WHAT IT DOES Notebook keeps your notes organized in groups, so everything has its place. Open a group and add as many notes as you need. Each note can be one of five types, so it fits exactly what you want to capture: • Text — a free-form note for thoughts, reminders, addresses, or anything else. • Checklist — a list with checkboxes; tap to tick items off as you go. Perfect for shopping and to-dos. • Counter — a single large number you raise or lower with a tap, swipe, or the buttons. Great for counting reps, laps, drinks, or anything else. • Numbered list — an ordered list of steps you can edit and reorder. • Barcode — store a number or code and show it as a scannable barcode. Supports Code 39, Code 128 and EAN-13. KEEP IT PRIVATE Lock any single note with a 4-digit access code. Its contents are encrypted right on the watch with strong cryptography (AES-256), so only someone who knows the code can open it. Notes without a code keep working exactly as before. FRIENDLY, NATIVE INTERFACE Notebook is built around the watch's native menus and touch controls, so it feels right at home on your device. Tap, swipe, or use the physical buttons — whatever you prefer. Lists scroll smoothly and longer text notes scroll with a clean, fluid animation. 1.7 Based on a suggestion by Denis: - Every note now records when it was created. Open a note and, just below "Show", a clock line shows the creation date and time (for example 2026-06-02 with 23:12:05 below it). The time follows your watch's 12/24-hour setting. - Notes created with older versions have no saved creation time, so the line is simply not shown for them - everything else keeps working as before. 1.6 - Touch controls now give haptic feedback (a short vibration) where it was missing: changing a counter, scrolling the custom checklist/numbered lists, reading and editing text notes, spinning the access-code ring and tapping to pick a digit, and starting/stopping a Morse note. Feedback respects your watch's vibration setting and only reacts to touch, not the physical buttons. Based on a suggestion by Sergei: - In a counter note you can now change the value by tapping the screen: tap the upper half (the "+" button) to add one, the lower half (the "-" button) to subtract one. - The "+" and "-" are now shown as clear round buttons. The previous controls still work too (UP/DOWN keys and swiping up/down). 1.5 Based on a suggestion by Matt Ullenbrauck: - Checklist and numbered notes now have a "Style" option (just above "Delete note") that changes how the list is displayed. Tap it to cycle the choice; the current one is shown next to it. - Choices: "System" (the default look, unchanged), "Small" and "Medium" - two custom layouts with a smaller font, so more items fit on the screen. - In the custom layouts the selected item stays pinned at the top and the whole list scrolls smoothly underneath as you move up and down. - An item that is too long to fit scrolls sideways (back and forth) while it is selected, so you can read all of it. - The chosen style is remembered per note. 1.4 Based on a suggestion by Sergei: - A note protected with an access code now locks itself after several wrong attempts, to make guessing the code much harder. - After 3 incorrect codes in a row that note is locked for 60 seconds. The code screen shows a message and a countdown; you can try again when it reaches zero (with a fresh set of attempts). - The lock is per note - only the note with the wrong attempts is affected, your other notes keep working normally. - The lock survives closing and reopening the app, so it cannot be bypassed by restarting. Entering the correct code (or removing the code) clears it. 1.3 - Added a new "Morse" note type: instead of reading the note, the watch transmits its text as Morse code by blinking the flashlight. Create it like any other note (pick the type, enter a name), then open it and choose "Show" to start; press START or tap to start/stop. - Options (each cycles in place with START): Speed (slow / medium / fast), Color (white / red / green - only the colors your watch supports are offered; white uses the brightest setting) and Repeat (loop the message, with a short pause between repeats). - While transmitting, the screen shows the letter currently being sent and its dot/dash pattern, plus an on-screen lamp that blinks together with the flashlight (so it also works as a simulation on watches without one). - Edit the message just like a text note ("Edit text"). - Works with Latin text (accented letters such as c/s/z are sent as their base letter) and with Cyrillic (Russian/Ukrainian) using the standard code. 1.2 Based on a suggestion by Sergei: - You can now protect a single note with a 4-digit access code. Open the note and choose "Access code" to set, change or remove it. - A protected note asks for the code as soon as you open it, so both its content and its settings stay private. The content is securely scrambled in the watch's memory - not just hidden on the screen. - On the code screen, spin the ring of digits with UP/DOWN and press START to pick the digit next to the button. The code shows as stars. - The note's name stays visible; only its
