Core (Body) Temperature 2
· v2.4.2
About
This is a widget version of my Core Temperature data field. It gives your estimated core body temperature. An external sensor is not required. Other similar apps on the Garmin Connect IQ store are intended for core temperature estimate during physical activity. This app uses an improved algorithm which gives accurate results during rest and daily activities as well as during exercise. It does not depend (entirely) on the watch temperature sensor, thus may also be suitable for swimming activities. There is a poor correlation between wrist skin temperature and core body temperature, especially during moderate and intense physical activity. The FULL version has additional features for women's menstrual cycle tracking.
WARNING: Garmin wearables are not medical devices, and the data provided by this app is not to be utilized for medical purposes and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The accuracy of the core body temperature estimate provided by this app is not guaranteed due to individual differences in physiology and environment.
# Features
* Units (Fahrenheit or Celsius) follow your temperature units setting in your watch's system settings
* Linear graph shows current core temperature and normal, hyperthermia, hypothermia ranges.
* Glance display for Garmin models which support glances.
* Optionally display the current core temperature and linear graph on the glance display (for Garmin models which support glances)
# FULL Version Features
* Up to 24 hour temperature trend graph on the 2nd page. (Garmin watches hold less than 24 hours of sensor data, usually 6 hours, but depends on the watch model). Activate the widget every few hours to get a full 24 hour graph with no gaps.)
* Measures and graphs daily basal body temperature over a period of 6 weeks. Activate the widget after waking up each morning to record this.
* Option to export daily basal body temperature, RHR, HRV and sleep data to a CSV file. See: https://ko-fi.com/post/Exporting-Basal-Body-Temperature-Data-from-the-Cor-W7W415FGJC HRV is available on newer Garmin models only. HRV, RHR and sleep data export requires an intervals.icu account linked to your Garmin Connect account. See: https://ko-fi.com/Post/Setting-Up-an-Intervals-icu-Account-for-RHR-an-HRV-B0B01CVCJY
* Optional alert reminder to activate the widget in the morning after waking up to record basal body temperature. (NOTE: The alerts may be blocked by the morning report if you have that enabled and you have not exited the morning report within 1 hour of your set wake time. The alerts are also blocked if you have Do Not Disturb mode turned on. On newer Garmin models, Do Not Disturb is turned on/off based on your set normal sleep and wake times.)
* Displays Physiological Strain Index (PSI) [Color coded 0-10 scale indicating the degree of physiological strain due to core temperature, heat and work load] . This is important for people working in hot environments or outdoors with protective clothing (eg. military, fire, police, construction, hazmat, industrial). Interpret as 0-1: none, 2-3: low, 4-6 moderate, 7-8: high, 9-10: very high)
NOTE: If you want these features in a watchface, try my Health Dashboard watchface. For only the core temperature value on a watchface, see my other watchfaces.
