About

**Let your friends know, where you are while biking, running, hiking, paragliding, etc.!** This app uses the energy efficient GPS of your GARMIN device for livetracking. Location data ist sent via BLE and your mobile phone to a private server of your own choice (for example OwnTracks Recorder: https://github.com/owntracks/recorder | OwnTracks Integration for Home Assistant: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/owntracks/ | php-tracks-recorder: https://github.com/tomyvi/php-tracks-recorder). Please be aware: To use this app, you need your own backend (aka tracking server)!! For the pilots out there: If you can't or don't want to run your own server and are looking for an app with which you can start livetracking immediately and easily: Take a look at the 'LiveTracker for PureTrack' app instead. PureTrack.io is a platform for live tracking in aviation. The Owntracks-JSON-payload with location information is posted via HTTPS. This is an alternative to the official Garmin Livetrack service. Your track data is stored on your private server and track data does not vanish after 24h. The app has been tested on the Fenix 6x/7X, Instinct 2 and on the Vivoactive HR.. The latter is a very interesting device for this purpose - you can buy it 2nd hand for very little money. While running this app the activity is not recorded on the device - There does tough exist a datafield for livetracking during activities (but with a 5min interval only). Feel free to contact me, if you want to test this app on another device and I will add it to the supported devices - if possible. If you like this app: go to https://chk.me/XkxL0zD - Thanks! _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Settings: device ID: Set your device name (Default: GarminTracker) URL Tracking Server: Set the URL to your tracking server API (Default: https://domain.com/post ) Tracking interval (s): Set the time interval between two track points (Default: 10 seconds - possible values between 10 and 60 seconds) Maximal timeinterval (min): Set longest time interval between two track points if minimum distance between points is not reached (if stationary its the minimum tracking time interval when not moving (Default: 5 minutes - possible values between 1 and 60 minutes) Minimal distance (m): Set minimal distance between two trackpoints when moving.
