Nordic Ski Wax

The Nordic Ski Wax Widget recommends a certain ski wax (e.g. SWIX - Red Klister) depending on temperature and snow condition (old snow vs. new snow). If you like this app, please feel free to donate at: paypal.me/udotha Temperature is requested from the online weather service „Open Weather Map“. If online weather ist not available, temperature is taken from the internal temperature sensor. In order to get accurate results from the internal temperature sensor you must take off your watch. Otherwise you will get your wrist temperature. If temperature is requested successfully from „Open Weather Map“ you will see a red temperature hand, else if temperature is taken from the internal temperature sensor the temperature hand is blue. Push the „Select Button“ (= Start/Stop Button) to switch between different ski wax providers. Tip: In order to get temperature from "Open Weather Map" internet access via smartphone and GPS location is mandatory. Nevertheless when you start the widget you will probably get a blue temperature hand with initial 0 °C value, because GPS location is not immediately available. After pushing the "Select" button a few times GPS location should be available and temperature requested from "Open Weather Map" should be displayed resulting in a red temperature hand. The default temperature unit is Celsius. You can change the temperature unit to Fahrenheit via property settings in Garmin Connect. An ancient SWIX ski wax thermometer in Sjusjøen (Norway) inspired me to this Nordic Ski Wax Widget. Therefore it is no surprise that SWIX ski waxes are recommended. If you favor another ski wax brand (e.g TOKO, HWK, etc.) with waxes for different temperature segments let me know and I will try to integrate your brand in the Nordic Ski Wax Widget. For each temperature segment (e.g. -10 / -5 °C) given a certain snow condition (e.g. wet snow) I need the wax name and the assigned color. E.g. HWK, wet snow, +10°C / -2°C, LFW1, yellow Your ski wax recommendations should cover a temperature range from -30 °C to +30 °C.
