About

Track your average effort for the current lap in real-time! This data field calculates mean effort using the proven formula: (lap distance in km + lap ascent/100) ÷ lap time in hours, focusing specifically on your active lap's average performance. Perfect for: • Runners who want to maintain consistent lap pacing • Cyclists tracking average power output per circuit • Trail athletes monitoring sustained effort levels • Anyone using interval or lap-based training protocols How it works: The field automatically resets when you press the LAP button and begins calculating the mean effort for the new lap. It combines your lap's distance and elevation gain to calculate total effort, then divides by lap duration to give you a comprehensive view of your current lap's sustained intensity. Key Features: • Real-time lap mean effort calculation • Automatic reset on new laps • Same proven formula as Total Effort series (but as a rate) • Clean, easy-to-read display • Compatible with 100+ Garmin devices Part of the Complete Effort Series: This field complements Total Effort, Instant Effort, Mean Effort, Last Minute Effort, and Lap Total Effort to give you complete performance insights across different time scales. Formula: (Current Lap Distance (km) + Current Lap Ascent (m) ÷ 100) ÷ Current Lap Time (hours) Developed by SolucionsDigitalsJOA - scientifically-based training tools for serious athletes. Compatible with Fenix, Forerunner, Epix, Instinct, Vivoactive, Venu, MARQ, and other Connect IQ enabled devices. Love the sustained performance insights?
