(see instructions below) *** . _______ Adding this data field to an activity ______ This is a data field. Unlike apps and widgets, it does not appear on the watch menu after you download it. Instead, it can be added to native apps. The procedure may change from device to device, so check the manual to be sure. In general, it should be something like this: - Open an activity (e.g. "Run") - Press and hold the MENU/UP button to open the menu - Choose "Run Settings" - Choose "Data screens" - Choose "Screen 1" - Chose "Edit data fields" - Choose the first field - Choose "Connect IQ" - Choose "RDF" . ______ How to open the settings ______ To configure a data field, you can use the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone or the Garmin Express on your computer. Using your phone: - Open the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your phone - Look for "Garmin Devices" on the main menu; - Choose your device - Then "Connect IQ Apps" - Then data fields - Then Route Data Field - Then Settings . ______ How to use the track code ______ The companion app encodes the route as a text, which is automatically copied to the clipboard of your Android/iOS device. Remove all the content of "Track code" field on the settings and paste this generated text (tap and hold the text box, select all content, delete, and then use the option "paste"). . _______ The PRO version ______ The route will be shown for a limited time if you are using the free version of the app. Use the button UPGRADE to unlock. IMPORTANT: the key for the Route Data Field is added to the text which encodes the route. Previously generated routes do not contain the key. So, after you buy, make sure that you generate a new route and copy it on data field settings.
