Event Countdown
· v1.1.3
About
This is a watch face that shows a countdown to a determined event date. You can set the event name and date (optionally set the hour the event starts). You can also set different colors for your background, hour digits, metrics, current date, event name, event date and countdown. The countdown can show in days or weeks. It can show up to 4 metrics so you can follow it during the day, these are the metrics available:
- Battery level left
- Weekly distance
- Today's distance
- VO2Max*
- HR Max
- Current HR
- Today's steps
- Today's floors climbed
- Today's calories consumed (kcal)
- Current temperature*
- High/Low temperature*
- Main Activity Weekly Distance* (for selected Main Activity in Settings)
- Main Activity Weekly Duration* (for selected Main Activity in Settings)
- Main Activity Weekly Count* (for selected Main Activity in Settings)
* Important: if not supported on your watch, it will display '---'. Also, you may need to keep the Garmin Connect app open on your phone as it uses the app to get the weather information, like current temperature, high and lows, etc. When that information is not available because the app is not open on the phone or some other reason (not supported by the watch model or software version), the watch will display ‘---'.
Display icons for:
- Alarm - bell (there is at least one alarm set)
- Notifications - bubble (there is at least one notification)
- Do not Disturb - phone is on airplane mode, sleep mode, etc.
- Sleep mode - quarter moon (time is between sleep and wake times defined in setup [Settings - System - Sleep Mode - Schedule])
New:
Some watches now provide access to the watch VO2 Max which has a more accurate calculation. When the watch face detects this information is available, it will show. Otherwise, it will show a simpler calculation that can provide an approximation (VO2max = (HRmax/Resting HR) * 15.3). However, some watches don't even provide access to resting HR, which will then make impossible to calculate VO2 Max, so it will display '---'.
Now you can set a text to appear when the countdown is reached, this text will display for one minute. You can also set a text to appear after the event date already passed. You can use this to remind and motivate you to set a new event.
Notes:
Heart Rate calculation will first try to show actual heart rate, if that is not available, it will look at the last 10 historical heart rate samples available in the last 60 seconds and average that (it gives a better value than only the most recent sample). If HR is not available, it displays "---". Due to limitations to watch faces, it may only refresh only once a minute when it is on "sleep mode" or as frequent as every second when it is not on "sleep mode".
Current Temperature is not available for all watch models, if it is not available on your watch, it will display "---".
Event Date and Time need to be in a valid format. Event Date is only available for years between 1970 and 2038 (sorry, SDK limitations) and in the format YYYY/MM/DD (4 digit for year, and forward slash / as date separator); correct hour format is HH:MM (military 2 digit for hour and 2 digit for minute with colon : as separator). Event Time format is HH:MM (military 2 digit for hour and 2 digit for minute with colon : as separator). If the Event Date and/or Event Time is not in the right format, your watch will show "Invalid Date/Time".
Countdown for "Weeks" and "Days" will only look at the date part of the event date. It will only look at time when the day of the event arrives. So, if your event is set to Jun 6th, 2022 at 13:00 and now it is Jun 5th, 2022, then the countdown for "Days" will show "1 day". Once now arrives to Jun 6th, 2022, the countdown will show "13 hours". The same is valid for "Weeks". If you are looking for a more accurate countdown that takes into account the hours and even minutes, choose "Weeks/Days/Hours/Minutes" type.
