Rings 2
· vV1.0.3
About
Rings 2 is an updated and more polished version of the Rings watch face that I recently released. While Rings provides good functionality, after testing it extensively, I decided to create an even more refined version. Rings 2 features a watch face format that converts 360-degree rings into arc gauges positioned along the left side of the watch face, providing more space for other display elements.
Key Improvements:
1 Larger digital time display drawn in wireframe format
2 Wireframe date stamp positioned below the time
3 Icons for each data profile (HR Zones, Stress Levels, Steps, Calories, Battery, Active HR, and Body Battery) positioned above the time when the appropriate ring profile is selected and color-coordinated to match the ring. Steps, Calories, Battery, Body Battery, and Active HR display numeric values next to their icons, while HR Zones and Stress Levels display the dominant zone.
Key Features:
Large wireframe digital time display (HH:MM) with date stamp (MM/DD) below center
Icons for active data profiles positioned above time with corresponding values
Three selectable data profiles displayed simultaneously on independent rings
Real-time and periodic updates depending on data type
7 Data Profiles:
Heart Rate Zones - Divides your HR activity across 6 intensity zones (0-50% MaxHR up to 90%+ MaxHR). Fetches 20 minutes of HR readings every update cycle, classifies each sample into zones, and displays daily distribution. Color-coded breakdown shows cardio intensity throughout the day.
Stress Level - Tracks daily stress and recovery via 7 zones (calm → very stressed). Averages 20-minute stress readings (0-100 scale) and maps to zones. Updates continuously as your watch detects stress through HR variability. Visual indicator of stress trajectory and recovery windows.
Steps - Daily goal progress bar (green). Shows percentage of daily step goal completed. Updates in real-time as you move. Fills entire ring at 100% or more.
Calories - Daily burn goal progress (default 3,000 kcal, customizable in settings). Orange indicator combining basal metabolism and activity burn. Updates periodically.
Battery - Watch battery percentage (cyan). Real-time progress indicator showing current remaining charge.
Active HR - Current heart rate as percentage of maximum HR (calculated as 220 - your age). Red indicator showing workout intensity 0-100%. Updates with each HR reading.
Body Battery - Garmin's recovery metric (deep blue, 0-100). Ranges: 0-25 (low/recovery needed), 25-50 (moderate), 50-75 (good), 75-100 (full energy). Based on sleep, stress, and activity.
Zone Display Logic:
Labels (Z0, Z1, etc.) appear only when zone ≥3% and maintain 20° minimum spacing
HR/Stress zones update every 20 minutes via sensor data collection
Daily counters reset at midnight
18 Ring Color Themes: Traditional, Navy, Retro, Purple, Minimal, Coral, Forest, Sunset, Ocean, Monochrome, Cyberpunk, Autumn, Arctic, Ice, Fire, Neon, Nature, Blood Moon
12 Time/Date Colors: Cyan (default), White, Yellow, Green, Red, Orange, Blue, Magenta, Lime, Pink, Gold, Teal. Each color customizable per ring.
PLEASE NOTE: Color will look more vivid on AMOLED devices, though I try to pick some colors that look great on MIP devices too. The Traditional MIP color theme looks great on MIP devices. My main device is a MIP device.
If you encounter any issues with the watch face, please contact the developer option on the IQ store. Finally, I did increase the price of this watch face compared to my other watch face as it took more time and is more polished. However, both watch faces are cool and provide good data. My pricing is based on effort and features. Also keep in mind that transaction fees and Garmin's share are taken out of each sale.
