Tempe Field
· v1.3.16
About
This data field displays data from Tempe sensor for devices that do not natively support it.
## Features
- Tracking average, current, min and max temperatures that are displayed in Garmin Connect
- Showing the battery level upon start
- Supports the ability to set a temperature offset that will be applied for the Tempe sensor data
- Switching between min/max 24 hour, current, activity min/max/avg temperatures and battery level by tapping on the field (only for Edge touch screen devices)
- Supports pairing multiple Tempe sensors (up to three)
## How to use
1. Download the data field application from Garmin Connect Store and synchronize your Garmin Edge
2. Select the data screen where you want put the data field
3. On the chosen field select "Connect IQ" - "Tempe Field"
4. Place Tempe sensor near Edge and the temperature should be displayed on the screen (this should take up to 15 seconds)
## Unpair Tempe sensor
After the Tempe sensor is connected to Edge, its device number will be stored in the "Tempe device number" app-setting. In case you want to pair a different Tempe sensor, you need to reset "Tempe device number" app-setting by setting the value to "0". This can be done by using either Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile.
## Pair multiple Tempe sensors
By default only one Tempe will be paired in order to prevent pairing Tempe sensors from other people when our is off. To pair an additional Tempe sensors:
1. Update "Second Tempe device number" app settings value from -1 to 0
2. Make sure that the Tempe sensor that was already paired is far away from Garmin Edge
3. Wait until the battery level is displayed (this can take up to one minute)
## Tracking delay
By default, minimum, maximum, and average temperatures are only updated when the timer is running. However, at the beginning of the activity, the Tempe sensor may not show an accurate temperature due to the drastic temperature changes (e. g. moving Tempe from a house/garage to outside). Therefore, it is possible to set a delay preventing updating min/max/avg temperatures. The delay will also be used when the activity is paused or stopped. When the activity is resumed, the data field will calculate the delay based on the set delay and the time the timer was paused/stopped. For example, if the delay is set to 15 minutes and the timer is paused for one minute (e. g. red light stop), the delay will only be one minute. If the timer is paused for more than 15 minutes, the delay will be 15. In short, the delay when the timer is resumed will be up to the delay set in the configuration.
## Error codes
In case an invalid combination of settings is selected or there an issue with the ANT channel, an error will be displayed on the screen. The following errors can be displayed:
- Error 1: An error occurred while trying to initialize the ANT channel. Check that this data field is the only Tempe data field displayed.
- Error 2: The initialized ANT channel could not be opened. Check that this data field is the only Tempe data field displayed.
- Error 3: The field layout positions were not found.
- Error 4: None of the predefined battery icons fit on the screen. This error will be shown only when there is a bug in the layout.
