Pace Gauge (target pace)

Pace Gauge is a data field for structured runs. It reads the pace target of the workout step you are currently in and draws it around the rim of the watch: a green band for on-target, red on either side, and a marker for where your pace sits right now. You can choose to view your speed instead of pace if you prefer. REQUIRES A WORKOUT WITH A PACE TARGET The green target band comes from a structured workout step that has a pace target. Without one (no workout loaded, an open step, or a step that targets heart rate or power instead), the field still works and shows your live smoothed pace, just with no target band and no arrow. WHAT IT SHOWS - Your smoothed pace as a large m:ss number, in whatever unit the watch is set to. - A red arrow in front of the number when you drift outside the target. The arrow tells you what to do: down means ease off, up means push. On target, no arrow. - A marker that slides with your pace: inside the green band when you are on target, to the right of it when you are running faster, to the left when you are slower. - Optional: the time left in the current step, for time-based steps, where the layout leaves room for it. TARGETS COME FROM THE WORKOUT The target range is read from the workout itself and updates as it advances from one step to the next, nothing to configure! On a rest step it follows the rest portion's target, or shows no target if the rest step does not define one. FITS YOUR DATA SCREEN The field adapts to the slot you put it in: a gauge hugging the rim in full-screen, top and bottom slots, a horizontal bar in a full-width middle band, and the target range above the pace in narrow grid cells. It follows the data screen's light or dark theme, and the watch's own unit setting: min/km or min/mi for pace, km/h or mph for speed. SETTINGS - Pace smoothing (seconds): how much pace to average before moving the marker. Default 5, range 1-30. Higher is steadier but slower to react. - Show step time remaining: on or off. - Show speed instead of pace: on or off. PRIVACY Pace Gauge collects no data. It requests no permissions, has no network access, and sends nothing anywhere. Everything it draws comes from the activity already running on the watch.
