LightUp
· v2.1.1
About
Control your radar’s light features from your Edge’s screen — without a phone app!
SUPPORTED RADARS:
Bluetooth: Bryton Gardia | Wahoo | Magene
ANT+: Garmin | Wahoo | Trek | Lezyne | Cycplus
LightUp supports concurrent ANT+ and Bluetooth connections and works with all popular radar models.
No configuration, no app, no phone. Free.
It adds features for Bluetooth compatible devices, such as all light modes, vehicle flash or brake light controls, full battery read and manual light control — all from your Edge’s screen, instantly and whenever you need them.
It includes a preset Peloton mode for select radars, with a steady light that has vehicle flash turned off for group rides. Your mates will love it - no more blinding vehicle flash when sitting in the bunch. Tested and working on Bryton Gardia.
INSTALLATION:
- Download and install LightUp on your supported Edge.
- Add a new data screen with one field → navigate to Connect IQ → select LightUp.
- Turn your radar light on, load a profile with the LightUp data screen installed, and start a ride. ANT+ connections are instantaneous. Bluetooth connections take 10–45 seconds.
- A three-tone alert indicates a successful Bluetooth connection. No alert sound for ANT+ connections as Edge displays a connection message instead.
- Once connected, the connection status, battery level and connection type are displayed at the top of the data field.
- The light control button grid is dynamically adjusted to the connected radar’s available light features.
- ANT+ connection: Provides the same or additional features available in Garmin's Light Network, with verbatim battery status (as broadcasted via ANT+)
- Bluetooth connection: Provides all available light features, including brake light and approaching-vehicle flash controls where supported. It also provides detailed battery status, displays the connection type and generates visual and audio low-battery alerts.
NON-TOUCHSCREEN DEVICES:
- Press MENU → WIDGETS/CONTROLS → Connect IQ Data Fields → LightUp → ENTER.
- Scroll with UP and DOWN, then press ENTER to select a light mode.
- Press BACK to exit the menu.
*** NOT ALL RADAR MODELS HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY TESTED ***
ANT+ radars: While the compatibility list should be reasonably accurate and the dynamic button grid should adjust to your radar model, LightUp has yet only been tested on a limited number of radars.
Bluetooth: Only the Gardia has been fully tested for all BT functionality - still looking for Wahoo and Magene testers.
I’m happy to improve this app based and the most useful feedback is a detailed description of a behaviour or a scenario, potentially with a short video showing the problem you encountered. This helps me nail down and fix issues in future releases.
If you find LightUp useful, you can buy me a flat white. Thank you!
