Tai Chi Tracker
· v2.0.4
About
Tai Chi deserves its own activity - not a Yoga entry in your feed.
Tai Chi Tracker records every practice as a dedicated Tai Chi activity in Garmin Connect, and it tracks what practitioners actually care about: rounds, pacing, breathing, and a calm heart rate. Built for Taiji, Taijiquan, Qigong, and standing practice.
Two ways to train:
- Open Training - no time limit, practice as long as you want
- Training with Goal - set a target duration, feel a gentle vibration when you reach it, and keep going into overtime if you wish
Count your rounds, not just your minutes:
- Press LAP to close a round; each one is saved as a lap in Garmin Connect
- The transition screen shows the round you just finished and how it compares to your average pace, so you know instantly whether you rushed it
- A round-by-round breakdown after every session, with split times and your average round length
During practice:
- Live heart rate zone arc, readable at a glance
- Bell timer - optional subtle vibration every 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes for form transitions or breathing checkpoints
- Screen lock - no accidental taps in the middle of a form
- Pause, resume, or discard at any time
After practice:
- Duration, calories, training effect, and recovery time
- Minimum heart rate and breathing rate - the numbers that show how calm the session really was
- HR zone breakdown with histogram, time and percentage per zone
- Round splits alongside your average round
- Full-session heart rate chart
Keep the habit:
- Weekly view - see which days you practiced this week
- Practice history - your last 20 sessions with date, duration and rounds; open any one to see its stats again
