Training Status Widget
A widget that shows a snapshot of your current training condition right on your watch, inspired by Garmin's Training Status display — powered by TRIMP (Training Impulse) calculations based on your watch's own heart rate sensor data.
Key features:
Training Status — automatic classification (Detraining, Recovery, Unproductive, Maintaining, Productive, Peaking, Overreaching) based on the ratio of acute (7-day) to chronic (28-day) training load, computed with an exponentially weighted moving average so it doesn't swing wildly from a single unusual day.
7-Day Load Chart — a bar chart of your daily load over the last 7 days; tap or press to step through and see the exact number for each day.
VO2 Max Trend — your VO2 Max trend (Steady/Increasing/Decreasing) pulled straight from your Garmin profile.
RHR (Resting Heart Rate) — your current resting heart rate plus a trend indicator against a 28-day baseline.
Acute Load — your current training load status (Low/Optimal/High/Very High).
Automatic personalization — uses your own resting HR, HR zones, and estimated max HR from your Garmin profile, not generic fixed values.
Auto backfill — on first install, the widget reads whatever heart rate history your device already has, so your data is populated right away instead of starting from zero.
The TRIMP calculation in this widget is an approximation based on the Banister model, not Garmin's proprietary EPOC/Firstbeat algorithm — so the numbers may differ slightly from Garmin's own Training Status, though the patterns and trends should track closely.
