Know how long your battery will last — not just what percent is left. HoursLeft is a Connect IQ data field that turns battery percentage into a clear remaining-runtime estimate. Whether you are racing an ultra, navigating all day on an Edge, or just want confidence before a long shift, HoursLeft shows what matters: how long until you need a charge. What you see • Compact vertical battery icon with live fill level • Battery percent with color coding: green (25%), orange (10–25%), red (10%) • Thin contrast outline on green percent text (black on light screens, white on dark) • Remaining time in hours (or minutes under 1 hour) • Warning indicator when battery drops below 5% • Charging status when the device is on the charger How the estimate works • Adaptive blend of measured drain and the system battery estimate • Considers activity context (GPS / effort) for more realistic short-term rates • Efficient sampling (about every 30 seconds); warm-starts from your recent drain history • Optional Estimate Mode in settings: Adaptive (default), Measured only, or System only Layout • Fits single-line and taller two-line data-field slots • Compact mode on narrow Edge half-width slots (keeps % and hours readable) • Automatic font sizing for small and large layouts • Works on light and dark data screens • High-contrast rendering on monochrome Edge 130 / 130 Plus Compatible with a wide range of Garmin watches and Edge bike computers (Fenix, Epix, Forerunner, Venu, Instinct, Enduro, MARQ, Approach, Edge 530/540/550/830/840/850/1030/1040/1050, Explore, MTB, and more). Older Edge 520 / 1000 are not supported (Connect IQ API below 3.1). Estimates are indicative and update as your real-world drain is observed. Music, maps, GNSS mode, and sensors affect battery life.
