Telemetra is a precision, data-first watch face for AMOLED Garmin watches, built on native vector fonts for crisp legibility at any size. TWO FACES, ONE DESIGN LANGUAGE - Grid - a dense telemetry dashboard: date/condition header, a metric graph, four configurable data fields, up to four progress rings around the bezel, a sunrise/sunset row and a configurable bottom widget. - Apex - a bolder, focused analog layout with a power line, a left data block, a ring, and hourly bars. HOME ASSISTANT Show up to five Home Assistant entities - temperature, energy price, a door sensor, anything - as data fields on any face. Enter your Home Assistant URL, a long-lived access token and up to five entity IDs in the settings; the watch fetches them in the background and shows each with its friendly name and unit, or a short custom label you choose. Any numeric entity can also be plotted on the graph: samples accumulate on the watch and draw as an auto-scaled line, decimals and negative values included. A stale value is marked rather than silently shown as current. One HA sensor can also override the outdoor temperature everywhere on the face, falling back to the Garmin forecast if it goes stale. Configurable refresh (5-60 min). Requires a valid HTTPS URL (Nabu Casa works out of the box). LOOKING AHEAD, NOT ONLY BACK - Projection Ring - extends one ring with a dimmed arc showing where its metric is heading at the rate it has actually been moving. It stays hidden until there is enough history to justify it, and never guesses. - Rain band (Grid) - the rings pull inward and the freed outer edge becomes an hourly rain forecast mapped onto the dial: a mark at 3 o'clock means rain at three. Brighter means a higher chance; dry hours leave a gap, so the shape of the band is the forecast. Choose its source: Garmin's own forecast, Open-Meteo (free, no account or API key), or your Home Assistant weather entity. - Day Shape (always-on) - your day's step profile as a closed 24-vertex polygon, one vertex per hour, with a brighter dot on the current hour. Different every day, because the day was. FULLY CONFIGURABLE Every slot picks from 26 metrics - heart rate, resting heart rate, steps, body battery, stress, VO2 max, calories, floors, distance, intensity minutes, recovery, respiration, pulse ox, sleep score, training status, notifications, battery, battery days, date, weather, sunrise/sunset, and the five Home Assistant fields - per slot and per face. RINGS AND GAUGES - Up to four rings on Grid: left, right, top and bottom. - Four ring geometries: Round, Flat, Wire (thin arc with a bright head dot) and Dashed - each composes with every colour option and every theme. - Ring colours: white, two accents, ten fixed colours and seven gradients (Aurora, Ember, Fade, Glacier, Plasma, Sunset, Toxic), per ring. - Gauge labels: Word (STEPS 58%), Numeric or Off; label colour Faint, Accent tint or White. MORE - 20 colour themes. - Presets - Everyday, Training, Trail, Minimal and Instrument, plus three save-your-own slots. A preset never wipes your Home Assistant credentials. - Configurable graph: metric (built-in or Home Assistant), 1-24 h range, line / bars / off, auto or manual min-max scaling, and an optional background (lines, grid or dots). - Grid bottom widget - classic data row, sun arc, recovery countdown, 7-day step history (days that hit their goal are marked), sun countdown, or a 7-hour rain forecast. - Five always-on modes (dim-full, clock-only, analog, big-clock, day shape) with a Thin or Outline clock style, tuned for AMOLED burn-in. - Battery indicator (text, bar, or bar only). - Full on-watch settings menu - change anything without your phone. - Native vector fonts - sharp rendering, low memory. ========================================= HOME ASSISTANT SETUP (optional) ========================================= 1. In Home Assistant: Profile - Security - create a Long-Lived Access Token. 2. In this face's settings (Garmin Connect / Connect IQ app): paste your HA URL (HTTPS with a valid certificate — Nabu Casa works), the token, and up to 5 entity IDs (e.g. sensor.living_room_temperature). Each can have a short custom label. 3. Assign "Home Asst 1-5" to any data slot, or pick one as the graph metric. Values appear within your refresh interval. The phone must be connected and online. ========================================= PERMISSIONS ========================================= Communications — fetch Home Assistant entity values over HTTPS, only to the URL you configure; and, if you select it as a weather source, an hourly forecast from open-meteo.com for your approximate location. Background — refresh those values while the face isn't active. Positioning — sunrise/sunset times, and the forecast location if you use Open-Meteo. User Profile — VO2 max, resting heart rate. Sensor History — heart rate / stress / elevation graphs. ========================================= WHAT'S NEW ========================================= Telemetra 0.7.6 SETTINGS TIDY-UP Nothing on the face changes in this release. A few settings moved to where you would actually look for them, and a few are named better. MOVED (in the phone app) - The three row colours (Top Row, 2nd Row, Extra Row) moved from Widgets into the Data Fields group, next to the fields they colour — matching where the watch has always kept them. - Temperature Unit moved to the top of the settings list. It applies to every temperature on the face, so it no longer sits inside one group. RENAMED - "Ring Ends (All Rings)" is now "Ring Ends". - "Date Row Color" is now "Top Row Color". - "Condition Row Color" is now "2nd Row Color". Both rows are named for their position rather than their usual contents, since you can put any field in them. Your settings and custom preset slots are unaffected — nothing was renamed internally, only on screen. Telemetra 0.7.5 NEW: Extra Row Color The optional row of fields above the clock was the last row on the face with no colour of its own. It now offers the same five choices as the other two rows: dim, white, accent 1, accent 2, or a gradient running left to right between your theme's two accents. (Settings - Data Fields - Grid - Extra Row Color) The gradient runs once across the whole row, so three fields read as one sweep rather than three separate ones. The labels beside the values keep following Metric Label Color, and a field showing a stale or low reading keeps its own warning colour instead of being blended into the ramp. The default matches how the row already looked, so nothing changes until you change it. FIXED - The Apex watch hands ended in a small blob, slightly off to one side. The rounded tips are now flush with the hands. This affected every version since the Apex face was introduced. - The Home Assistant graph line ended in a blunt, slightly crooked tip. The main graph was fixed in 0.7.4; this closes the same fault on HA metrics. Custom preset slots are unaffected by this release. 0.7.3 — Fixed: changing any setting from the phone could silently reset the whole face to the last preset you ever applied there. Presets now apply only when you actually pick one (to re-apply the same preset, select None first; the on-watch Presets menu is unchanged). New Theme Accents setting (Both / Left only / Right only) paints the whole face with a single accent - try Ember + Left only for pure signal orange. Also: Home Assistant values and the rain band refresh at full rate again, no more phantom step spikes in the graph after a workout, and saved custom presets need one re-save. 0.7.2 — Fixed: the heart rate graph averaged your workouts away.
