Description
The BBS Power Targets data field displays an athlete's race plan power targets in real-time as the athlete progresses through the course. Please note that this data field will only work with Garmin Power Course (.FIT) files generated with the Best Bike Split application. Learn more about BBS at www.bestbikesplit.com.
Add a BBS Power Course to your Garmin device:
1. Connect your BBS account with your Garmin connect account (https://www.bestbikesplit.com/member-connect-garmin)
2. Generate a rider/course/condition-specific Race Plan in Best Bike Split
3. Select the upload to Garmin Connect button on your Race Plan Details page!

1. Download the Garmin Power Course for the Race Plan
2. Place the .FIT file in the new files directory on your Edge or Fenix Devices (See compatibility table to check if your device is compatible)

SETUP
1. Install the CIQ field
• In Garmin Connect IQ, install “BBS Power Target” and sync your device.
2. Create a “BBS Race” activity profile
• Copy your Road profile, rename to “BBS Race.”
• Data screens: Power (3s or 10s), Lap NP, BBS Power Target (IQ), plus Cadence/HR if desired.
• Turn OFF ClimbPro and Segments (BBS handles pacing; avoids pop-ups).
3. Navigation settings (inside BBS Race profile)
• Map → Popularity Map: Off
• Routing → Mode: Straight Line
• Routing → Lock on Road: Off
• Recalculation (Edge 830/840): Off
• Navigation Prompts: Text Only
• Sharp Bend Warnings: Off
4. Connect BBS → Garmin Connect and send your course
• In BBS: Settings → Connect Garmin, authorize.
• Open your race plan → File Uploads → under Garmin click “Power Course.”
• In Garmin Connect: open the created course → “Send to Device.” (If you don’t see it, clear any filters on the Courses page.)
ON-DEVICE CHECKS (before race)
• Courses → Course Options: Turn Guidance Off; Off-Course Warnings Off.
• Course → Settings: Route Calculation = Not Cached (if “Cached,” choose Remove from Cache); Always Display Off; Course Points On.
• Note (Edge 1050): you may need to re-set “Not Cached” each ride.
RACE-DAY FLOW
• Choose course and confirm “Not Cached.”
• Select “BBS Race” profile and press Start.
• You’ll see “Beg.” until you reach the course start, then brief “Cont. to Next,” followed by live BBS power targets.
• “Navigate to Start?”
– Yes: if you will ride up to and through the plan’s starting point.
– No: if you won’t pass through the plan’s starting point before starting.
TROUBLESHOOTING
• No power targets / stuck on “Cont. to Next”: clear the course cache (see below) and confirm ClimbPro/Segments are OFF.
• Constant beeps: disable Turn Guidance and Sharp Bend Warnings.
CLEARING CACHED ROUTE (fix for targets not appearing)
• Courses → select your course → ••• (3-dot menu) → Route Calculation → if “Cached,” choose “Remove from Cache.”
