TAWATX (Aviator-X Public Beta)

WARNING: This watchface and it's METAR function is intended only as a flight planning aid and is NOT for in-flight use and should NOT be used as a primary information source. ----------------------- TAWATX (read ta-wa-tech) is a high resolution analog watch display with avanced weather features. It is available for free. Right now, both watchfaces have the same feature set. In future, TAWATX will serve as a public beta test platform and there might be preview features that are potentially unstable or available only temporarily. Of course, TAWATX will keep the current look and features, so you can keep using it as before and keep the beta stuff disabled. OWM Create an openweathermap (OWM) API key (https://openweathermap.org/) and enter it in the app settings. It is required that you aquire a gps lock after starting the watch face for the first time, so just start any activity and wait for the GPS indicator to turn green, then return to the watch face. Once your position is set, the sun-dial will populate and OWM reports can be requested. You will see that OWM data is used when the top weather symbol on the weather dial changes to white. If no OWM API Key is provided, Garmin Weather will be used. METAR METAR weather report. You will need an API key from https://avwx.rest/ and enable the feature in the settings. METAR is updated every hour, it might take some time for the first METAR report to show up. METAR will not be displayed if a weather warning from OWM is active. Those who use non-metric units may want to adjust the E.A.I. thresholds in the app settings, as the standard settings are for metric units (espectially temperature) FEATURES High Resolution Analog Display with customizable colors Intelligent field Bottom data field will display information that significantly changed (like steps, HR, climbed floors, altitude, acitive minutes). Otherwise it will automaically revert to the pre-set data option. If an intelligent field is displayed it will be indicated by an i icon. This feature is disabled by default, you can activate it in the settings. E.A.I. - Environmental Awareness Indicator - Weather warning indications for high/low temperature, precipitation or high wind. Thresholds are customizable. - Hourly forecast warning indications as colored arcs on the watch face - see at a glance when it will rain, get hot/cold or windy - OWM only: Weather alerts from OWM Auto Night Mode - change color after dusk/before dawn AOD - Full display AOD mode - All data readable Disclaimer: This watchface is intended for recreational use only.
