Strata is a goals and rings dashboard built for AMOLED. A large, custom-drawn clock anchors the face.
Three slim goal rings trace the rim, each filling clockwise as you close it, and the moment a goal is met its tip blooms into a star. Point each ring at any goal you are closing: steps, active minutes, floors, calories or distance. Set your own target or let the watch's own goal stand. Pass 100% and the ring holds full while the star keeps travelling round.
A trend timeline curves along the bottom. Switch it between eight metrics — Body Battery, stress, heart rate, elevation, Pulse Ox, temperature and pressure — and give it a colour of its own.
Shape the rings too: choose thickness and spacing, and tint the unfilled track so each one reads all the way round. Pick from six colour themes, or give any single complication a colour of its own.
Drop any of a broad catalogue into each of three data slots, each with its own crisp on-device icon. Body: heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate zone, Body Battery, stress, respiration. Activity: steps, active minutes, floors, distance, ascent, descent, total and active calories, goal remainders. Environment: temperature, elevation, pressure, solar intensity, weather, high and low, dew point, sunrise and sunset. Health: VO2 max, recovery time, race predictions, and on newer watches sleep score. Plus battery, notifications and date.
Recolour each goal ring from eighteen named colours, and its matching value recolours to match.
Quiet cues for phone connection, notifications, alarms and Do Not Disturb sit above the time; two more stats flank the date. Pick your time separator, a colon or a dot. There are no ticking seconds.
Distance follows your watch's unit setting, kilometres or miles; temperature follows Celsius or Fahrenheit; the clock follows your 12 or 24-hour setting. The always-on display stays burn-in-safe and now shows the three goal rings beside the dimmed clock by default, or just the time and date if you prefer. The dial re-spaces itself when you turn things on or off.
Press and hold any reading to open the full metric. Set the clock colour, progress marker, time format, date format and past-goal tracking from the watch itself, or in the Garmin Connect IQ app.
What's new
V1.7.0 - Bigger, clearer type across the whole dial.
Goal rings: choose thickness and spacing, right down to no gap at all.
Unfilled ring track can now be tinted, so each ring reads all the way round.
Past your goal now looks different from exactly on it.
Six colour themes for every auto-coloured element.
Any complication can be given its own colour.
Timeline graph now offers eight metrics, and its own colour.
Every status cue can be switched on or off on its own.
The date line can be turned off.
The always-on screen now shows the three goal rings by default.
The dial re-spaces itself when you turn things on or off.
Always-on status cues can be chosen in any combination.
Timeline graph is bigger, and you can set how wide it runs.
Fix: the clock now sits optically centred instead of slightly low.
V1.4.0 - Please note: this update needs TWO NEW PERMISSIONS, which you must accept when you update — your Garmin complication data (for sleep score, VO2 max, recovery time and race predictions) and your location (for sunrise and sunset). As always, nothing leaves your watch.
A much wider choice for the three data slots, plus a live Garmin health-data feed. New complications you can now pick: resting heart rate, heart-rate zone, active calories (estimate), ascent, descent, solar intensity, high and low temperature, dew point, VO2 max, recovery time, race predictions, and sunrise and sunset — plus sleep score on supported devices (newer watches). Every complication icon has been redrawn for a crisper look.
V1.3.0 - Settings menus are now localised in more languages — German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
V1.2.1 - Fixed the weekday sometimes showing as blank boxes on watches set to certain languages (for example Chinese). Added two date settings: Date detail (day, weekday, or weekday plus month) and Weekday language (follow your watch, or always English).
V1.2.0 - Localised dates - the weekday and month now read in your watch's language.
V1.1.2 - Weekly active minutes now read as weekly — the count beside the ring matches the weekly goal the ring fills toward.
A steadier clock: the time digits are now fixed-width, so nothing shifts sideways as the minutes change.
And two new touches in the details: the battery icon now fills to its true level in a colour that tracks it, and a Do Not Disturb moon joins the quiet status cues.
The day name beside the date now appears in your device language, not just English.
V1.1.1 - Smoother type, plus five new metrics.
V1.1.0 - Five new data metrics. Drop Temperature, Elevation, Pressure, Respiration, or live Weather (real-feed temperature with a condition icon) into any of the three data slots - on top of the existing eleven. Temperature follows your Celsius / Fahrenheit setting.
V1.0.1 +8 devices
v1.0.0 - First release.
