WC Compass
· v1.3.10
About
WC Compass finds the nearest public toilets around you and points the way.
Press START to search: the app gets a GPS fix, looks up public toilets from OpenStreetMap around your position (1 km, widening to 5 km when few are found) and shows them sorted by distance — including whether they are paid or wheelchair accessible, plus a nearby landmark for unnamed toilets (e.g. "near: Kaufland").
Pick one and a compass arrow guides you: direction and straight-line distance, updated live as you move.
Controls:
- UP/DOWN: browse results
- START: navigate to the selected toilet
- hold MENU: search again from your current position
- BACK: go back
A phone connection (Garmin Connect app) is required for the toilet lookup. GPS and compass run on the watch itself.
Toilet data (c) OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), queried via the Overpass API. Data completeness varies by region — you can improve it by mapping toilets in OpenStreetMap.
What's new
Version 1.3.10 — fixes a bug where the wait-for-GPS screen could show a stale "position unknown" hint even right after a fresh, live signal was available. It now reliably shows live GPS status (searching, weak signal, or ready) while you wait.
