About

Runmity is a Connect IQ Data Field that helps nearby runners share a lightweight greeting without stopping or speaking. When two watches detect each other through Runmity, each watch uses a distinctive vibration and a full-screen high-five animation. The same nearby Runmity participant triggers one greeting per run. Supported watches also show today's greeting count, streak, and total. Before you start • Both supported Garmin watches need Runmity. • Models that require sensor registration need another nearby watch already running Runmity during the one-time registration. A solo first adopter cannot complete this step. • Forerunner 55 and non-Music 245 use a lightweight build. Greeting and vibration work, but the statistics screen is not included. 1. Add Runmity to Run (all models, once) 1) Install Runmity from the Connect IQ Store. 2) Add Runmity to a one-field data screen in the native Run activity. Representative menu paths: • Forerunner 55: hold UP → Activities & Apps → Run → Run Settings → Training Pages → Add → Custom Data → 1 Field → Data Fields → Connect IQ → Runmity • Forerunner 570: open Run → Run Settings → Data Screens → Edit Data Fields → Connect IQ → Runmity • On other models, select Runmity from Connect IQ data fields under Training Pages or Data Screens. Menu names may vary by model, language, and firmware. 2. First sensor registration (selected models, once) Required on: Forerunner 70, 165 series, 170 series, 255 series, 265 series, 570 42mm/47mm, 955/955 Solar, 965, and 970. Not required on: Forerunner 55, 245 series, 745, and 945 series. 1) Add Runmity to Run on a second supported watch and start Run there first. 2) On the watch being registered, open Sensors & Accessories → Add New → Connect IQ. If Connect IQ is unavailable, choose Search All. 3) Wait up to 30 seconds, select “Runmity Nearby,” and complete registration. 3. Enable greeting alerts (all models, once) Open Run Settings → Alerts → Connect IQ and enable Runmity. Some models place this under Alert Settings. Every run Sensor search does not need to be repeated after setup. 1) Open the native Run activity on both watches. 2) Start Run and begin running. 3) A mutual detection triggers the vibration and high-five animation. The same participant will not trigger another greeting during that run. Watches in Auto Pause are not eligible. Disable Auto Pause only when testing while stationary. Privacy and safety Runmity does not use an account, phone, location, or Internet connection while running. Greeting counts, streak, and total remain on your watch. The cue does not identify a person or guarantee exact distance, safety, or physical contact. Prioritize your route and surroundings, and ignore the cue whenever responding is unsafe or uncomfortable.
