Modello GMT – Tactix 8 Cerakote
· v5.0
About
Modello GMT is a modern tool watch face inspired by the tradition of Italian industrial watchmaking, where clarity, restraint, and purpose come before decoration.
Designed as an homage to utilitarian timepieces born for real use, Modello GMT focuses on legibility, balance, and confidence. Every element exists for a reason. The layout is calm and intentional, prioritising immediate readability across all lighting conditions, without visual noise or unnecessary embellishment.
Carefully adapted to Garmin’s ecosystem, Modello GMT is engineered to feel native on the wrist. It respects the strengths of Garmin hardware and software, integrating seamlessly with supported devices while maintaining a consistent visual identity across screen sizes and resolutions. Whether worn daily or during extended use, it remains composed, readable, and reliable. The result is a watch face that feels equally appropriate in everyday settings and demanding environments.
Efficiency is a core principle of the design. Modello GMT is optimised for low energy consumption and long battery life, making it suitable for continuous wear. All visual components are rendered directly on the device using on-device drawing methods. There are no raster images, no SVGs, and no external assets. This approach ensures optimal performance, sharp rendering, and consistent appearance across all supported Garmin models.
The GMT functionality is presented with clarity and restraint, allowing a second time zone to be tracked effortlessly without cluttering the main dial.
Modello GMT is built for users who appreciate precision, efficiency, and thoughtful design. It does not try to impress loudly. Instead, it earns trust through discipline, balance, and performance.

4.1:
• All accent colours are now available for hands fill, every colour in the palette, now yours to put on the hands.
• MIP second hand colours menu refactoring, no more of those rare crashes.
• Bionic font, default on MIP: Outfit was too pixelated on memory-in-pixel screens. Bionic is now the default. Cleaner, sharper, as it should be.
• MIP shadows: toggle added.
• Feels Like temperature toggle: added. Off by default.
• Units toggle: choose between Follow Device, Metric, or Imperial independently of your watch system setting. Follow Device set by default.
• Tides and OWM: fixed a rare issue where weather data would not refresh, temperatures would stick to a single incorrect value, and tides data would fail to display when it should.
• Complication position on pixel shift: fixed an issue where complication positions would drift during pixel shift engagement.
• Pressure units setting: added, since Garmin does not expose device pressure unit preference to watch faces.
• Moon phase precision: improved calculation accuracy.
• Epix Pro second hand: fixed a firmware-related issue causing the second hand to lag. If you are still experiencing this, please reach out via the Contact Developer button with your firmware version.
