BabySling Activity Tracker

Baby Sling is a custom Garmin activity app designed for parents who carry their baby in a sling or carrier. It automatically detects your movement type using the accelerometer and barometric altimeter — no buttons, no manual mode selection, except starting the sleep phase of the baby if you want to track that. Got a baby and not much opportunity to exercise - well, getting your baby asleep is some kind of sports, so why not track that with your garmin watch? Optional Companion web app: https://baby-sling-landing.web.app HOW IT WORKS The app classifies your movement in real time: walking, squats, side-to-side swaying, stair climbing, or idle. It counts steps, floors, squat reps, and sway cycles automatically. Tap the screen to log your baby's sleep state. BATTERY SAVER (new, on by default) During a session the screen now dims to a near-black ambient view after 12 seconds with no interaction, and comes back on any button, tap, or wrist raise. The press that wakes the screen is deliberately consumed: the blind tap you make to light the watch can never be the one that flips the baby's sleep state or ends the activity. Prefer the old always-lit screen? Turn "Batt Saver" off in the on-watch settings menu. LONGER BATTERY BETWEEN CARRIES The accelerometer, heart rate sensor and barometer now run only while a session is recording, instead of from the moment the app opens. As a result the idle screen shows "--" for heart rate. During a session nothing changes. CRASH FIX Out-of-range or non-numeric values written to the FIT recording could terminate the app mid-carry. Every session and record field is now clamped before it is written.
