About
A lightweight Edge 840 data field that displays power history as zone-colored bars with a heart rate line graph overlay.
PowerTimeline is a Connect IQ data field designed to visualize cycling power trends in a simple and easy-to-read timeline format.
The data field displays average power as zone-colored bar graphs and overlays heart rate as a red line graph. The rightmost bar represents the current average power, while past data shifts left over time.
Two timeline modes are available:
3 min mode: 18 bars using 10-second average power
9 min mode: 18 bars using 30-second average power
An FTP reference line is displayed on the graph, making it easy to see how current power compares to your FTP. Power zone colors are calculated from FTP, while the graph height can be adjusted separately using the Power graph max W setting.
For example, if Power graph max W is set to 300, the top of the graph represents 300 watts. Power above that level is clipped at the top of the graph, but the zone color still reflects the correct FTP-based intensity.
Heart rate is displayed as a red line graph, and its display range can be adjusted using the HR graph min and HR graph max settings.
For small data field layouts, the header text is automatically hidden to maximize graph height. For larger layouts, the header can be shown or hidden from the settings.

Compatibility and display note
PowerTimeline is primarily designed around Edge 840 style layouts, but this version also supports additional Edge devices.
Because data field size and screen resolution differ by device, some layouts may look crowded. If this happens, set Header to Hide or reduce Value font size in the app settings.
For small fields, using Power only or reducing the value font size may improve readability.

Update notes
This update expands compatible Edge devices and improves layout stability across different field sizes.
Changes:
- Added support for additional Edge devices:
Edge 1030, Edge 1030 Bontrager, Edge 1030 Plus, Edge 1040, Edge 1050,
Edge 530, Edge 540, Edge 550, Edge 830, Edge 840, and Edge 850.
- Removed duplicated upper-right current power and heart rate text from the header.
- Moved the timeline label, such as 3m / 10s or 9m / 30s, to the upper-right header area.
- The lower-left value display remains available for Power / HR or Power only.
- Power value display can be set to 1, 3, 10, or 30 second average.
- In Power / HR mode, power follows the selected average interval while heart rate updates every second.
- READY/start display is released by activity timer start.
- Added/kept flexible settings for Header, Value display, Value power avg, Value font size, Power graph max W, and HR graph range.
Recommended settings:
- If the display looks crowded on some devices or field sizes, set Header to Hide or reduce Value font size.
- On smaller devices or small data field layouts, Power only or Header Hide may improve readability.
Test notes:
- Edge 530 simulator passed 1 hour with 1 sec power, Power / HR, and Max value font.
- Edge 530 real device passed 1 hour 30 minutes endurance test.
- Edge 840 layout was checked for the primary target layout.
