About

WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft. FlightTrackIQ is a real-time ADS-B flight tracker for Garmin handheld GPS users. See every aircraft around you — bearing, distance, altitude, and heading — on a heading-locked radar scope that rotates with your device. Know what's overhead before you hear it. Requires an active data connection on a paired phone, this app is not intended for in-flight aviation use. If you experience any issues with the app, please tap or click Report a Problem. SCREENS Radar — Heading-locked phosphor green compass rose showing all aircraft within your chosen range by bearing and distance. Aircraft are color-coded by altitude: red below 5,000 ft, yellow 5,000–10,000 ft, gray above. A rotating sweep line, distance rings, and a target readout strip showing callsign, flight level, speed, track, and bearing keep you fully oriented at a glance. Flight List — All filtered aircraft sorted closest-first with callsign, altitude, flight category, and bearing for each. Scroll with the joystick and press ENTER to open the full detail view for any aircraft. Settings — Filter displayed traffic by altitude ceiling (5K, 10K, 20K, 50K, or all), radar range (5, 10, 20, or 50 miles), and flight category (all, airliner, military, or private). Trigger an immediate data refresh at any time. REQUIREMENTS Garmin Connect Mobile required for ADS-B data connection GPS required for bearing, distance, and radar orientation Internet connection required for live flight data — does not work offline DATA Live ADS-B position data fetched automatically from the OpenSky Network every 30 seconds. A data age indicator appears on every screen. For best results, ensure a mobile data connection before heading into the field. PRIVACY POLICY FlightTrackIQ does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. GPS location is used locally on-device to calculate aircraft bearing and distance and is never transmitted. Flight data is fetched from the public OpenSky Network service and is used with permission from OpenSky Network. No analytics, advertising, or user accounts are used.
