DataField for the most recent (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Italy, Australia, [Spain - experimental]) rain radar at four zoom levels with background context map. The Garmin "Simulator" only replicates some real world experiences. So feedback on rain radar image quality, look-and-feel and user experience (touch or buttons) is always appreciated. Displays the timestamp and source of last radar image, last request time, time-to-next request, status of location, current wind direction and mobile comms (required for image refresh). Allows customisation of display intensity of background map and rain radar overlay. Settings allow for request interval specification and auto-cycle of the zoom level (and period). Touch-devices can cycle between zoom levels interactively, non-touch require the auto-cycle set (which can also be useful hands-off for all users). Background data refresh, when datafield is not visible is an option. Radar images require about 100kb (max) data for download. This service may be suspended at any time due to server-side load and costs. It's a free App with an unrestricted number of radar data images per month. From v3.0+ this will be restricted to 50, or via a small license.
