About

Manual, licence and support: https://shop.cubio.no/gp GlidePanel is a soaring instrument for sailplane pilots: landing fields, airspace, wind, live traffic and the flight clock, on seven pages one button apart — Panel, Fields, Field, Wind, Traffic, Airspace and Flight — under a rim that always carries north, the wind and an arrow to your field. LANDING FIELDS Your own fields and airports, loaded from a .cup file with the free uploader, so the app carries no built-in dataset to go stale and works in any country. Each is ranked by the glide ratio it needs, corrected for the wind, and turns green when it is in reach. A trend arrow says whether a field is coming closer or slipping away, and a safety-margin setting keeps a height buffer in every calculation. AIRSPACE Your own airspace from a .cub or OpenAir file, warned laterally and in height before you reach it. Flight-level limits are compared on the standard 1013 datum and MSL limits against your QNH, exactly as the airspace is published. One button mutes a warning for airspace you already know about. TRAFFIC A live plan view of the aircraft around you from the Open Glider Network and ADS-B, each at its bearing and range, coloured by vertical separation, with a chime whose pips say how close. An optional PureTrack source is available with your own PureTrack Pro subscription. WIND AND ALTITUDE Wind is measured from your own flying — while circling and, since this release, in a straight line as well — so the glide figures use the air you are actually in. You calibrate your altitude once at startup, in metres or feet, and everything vertical is measured from it: whether a field is reachable, whether an airspace floor is above you, whether another glider is co-altitude. THE FLIGHT Recorded to Garmin Connect as a gliding activity, with the flight clock on its own page. REQUIREMENTS A phone running Garmin Connect with an internet connection, kept connected for the whole flight: the traffic page streams over it, so unlike GlideRange and GlideSpace this is not an offline tool. Your fields and airspace are loaded once through the free uploaders and then live on the watch. PureTrack is optional and needs your own active subscription; without it the default OGN + ADS-B feed is free and needs no account. Transmitting your own position is separate, off at every launch, and needs no subscription. SAFETY A recreational aid, not a means of separation or airspace clearance. It shows only the fields and airspace you loaded, traffic coverage is incomplete and positions can be delayed, and above-ground limits are approximate. It does not replace current charts, a briefing, or your own lookout. Install it free from the Connect IQ Store and fly it for 14 days before you decide. Entering the licence code once, online, ties it to this watch, and everything runs offline after that. No account, no subscription. WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft.
