About
Just Weather IQ — Watchface Description
Just Weather IQ is a clean, information-rich watchface built around Garmin's native weather data. It puts current conditions front and center with a large, crisp weather icon and temperature, while giving you full control over what additional metrics you see and how everything looks.
Weather at a Glance
The centerpiece is a big weather icon paired with the current temperature and a short condition label, pulled directly from your watch's built-in weather feed. The icon set covers all Garmin conditions — clear, partly cloudy, overcast, fog, mist, light/heavy rain, showers, thunderstorms, snow, sleet, hail, and more — with dedicated day/night variants so the display stays accurate from sunrise through sunset. Temperature respects your device's unit setting (°C or °F) automatically.
The icons come in two hand-tuned resolutions: a sharp 78-pixel set for MIP displays (fēnix, Forerunner, Instinct class) and a crisp 140-pixel set for AMOLED screens (Venu, epix, fēnix 8, Forerunner 265/965). Each asset is drawn at native resolution — no runtime scaling, no blur.
Three Configurable Fields
Pick any combination of three data fields to display around the time. Each slot can show:
Steps
Heart rate
Calories
Distance
Floors climbed
Altitude
Battery percentage
Pressure (mmHg, mbar, or inHg — your choice)
Body Battery
Stress level
Field 2 is optimized for short values (HR, Floors, Battery, Body Battery, Stress) so nothing gets truncated, while fields 1 and 3 support the full option list. Each field uses a matching icon and the same font system as the date for a consistent look on MIP devices.
Full Color Customization
Make the watchface yours with five independent color settings:
Background color
Foreground / field text color
Hours color
Minutes color
Date color
Icon color
All settings offer a palette of 20 colors — black, white, gray shades, red, dark red, orange, gold, yellow, lime, green, cyan, teal, sky blue, blue, navy, purple, magenta, pink, and brown — so you can build any theme from high-contrast black-and-white to vibrant neon or subtle monochrome.
Big, Readable Time
The hours and minutes are drawn in Garmin's largest numeric font, with hours and minutes rendered separately so you can color them differently for a distinctive two-tone look. Below the time sits the full date (day of week, day number, month) in a clean secondary font.
Pressure with Trend
When pressure is selected as a field, the watchface reads the last hour of sensor history, calculates the direction of change, and shows an arrow next to the value indicating whether pressure is rising, falling, or stable — a genuine barometer reading, not a static number.
Body Battery and Stress
Body Battery and Stress pull directly from Garmin's SensorHistory API and display the latest valid reading as a 0–100 value with dedicated icons.
Always-On Display Support
AMOLED devices get a dimmed, low-power AOD layout that preserves the time and essential elements while meeting burn-in protection requirements. The watchface automatically switches between active and AOD modes as you raise or lower your wrist.
Wide Device Support
Just Weather IQ runs on a broad range of Garmin wearables including fēnix 5 through fēnix 8, epix 2 / epix Pro, MARQ, MARQ 2, Venu 2/3, Venu 4, Forerunner 245/255/265/645/745/945/955/965/970, vivoactive 3/4/5/6, D2 Air / Delta / Mach, Descent Mk1/Mk2/Mk3, Enduro / Enduro 3, Approach S70, and more — covering both round MIP and round AMOLED screens from 240×240 up to 454×454.
Privacy and Performance
Just Weather IQ uses only on-device data: weather from Garmin Connect's sync, and sensor readings from your watch. Nothing is sent to third parties, nothing requires an account, and battery usage is optimized through cached draws and minimal wake-ups.
