*** VERSION 1.2 *** (Current users see What's new for a bug fix!) This is the version 1.2 of my new QR code generating app. This version is limited to encoding for up to max. 31 characters. The app can save up to 100 QR (de)codes - they can be edited and deleted. I made the app to be used with Garmin Pay when shopping in a store that has customer benefits via scanning available. I don't like to have phone with me when working out and I may have forgotten to take it with me. First I get my customer (default) QR code scanned from my watch and then pay with Garmin Pay. That's my use case. Maybe you will have more. Send me a note if you find this useful. Other suggested use cases might include sharing confidental/personal/sensitive information easily, quickly and discretely to another person's mobile phone via scanning QR code from your watch face. Maybe there is no time (working out), need or you don't want to give email or phone info to the other person - or those are exactly the details you want to be scanned from your watch face ;) *** HOW IT WORKS? *** See 1st image. *** TIP *** In the 4th image you can see Garmin provided keyboard characters that can be used as alphanumeric characters: 1) [A-Z %*-./:]: No limitations anymore. 2) [a-z!#;()',=@$&+?] : Available chars depend on device and if Instant Keyboard (in CG) is used. 3) [0-9]: Only numeric has 31 as max. as the keyboard input of Garmin's device can have only max. 31 characters. *** OBS *** Please note that you can use Instant Keyboad to quickly add your codes but that some special characters via Instant Keyboard aren't supported. Only some devices are supported by Garmin (see links below). *** IMPORTANT *** MARCH 2025 fēnix® E/8 series and Enduro™ 3 KEYBOARD ENHANCEMENTS are not supported. So use the basic circular keyboard only for watch input. FR 55 is not supported even it is in the supported list. Alphanumeric input is now included in the app and optimized for Garmin's input limit. Elder 3.1.0 IQ API device level devices *** having in-device keyboard! *** are supported now. See Compatible Devices list. 1.2.7: Updated device compatibility list. No updates to the app. 1.2.6: Updated device compatibility list, some newer devices added and FR 55 dropped. FR 55 doesn't support text input (TextPicker). 1.2.5: Forerunner 970 and vivoactive 6 support added 1.2.4b: Fixes key error of QR code in persistent storage. Now the app should be working for all users. 1.2.4: Bug fixed in first time app start. Lack of regression test caused this unfortunate bug! Instinct 2 is back in this build, too. I need to add a fix to persistent store, too. Current users will get it in 1.2.4b version soon. 1.2.3b: Instinct 2 models dropped from build. 1.2.3: 1) Eccentric zoom out with DOWN button to the bottom-left corner of the code to support Garmin Instinct's special screens. Zoom in with Up button works, too. Setting is saved when the app is closed. 2) Backlight ON at 80% when the app opens to aid immediate scanning - maybe as a setting later, too. 1.2.0: Optimized input processing.
